Through compatibility mode. Installation file - properties - compatibility - select the system under which the game ran.

I had the same problem; saving after every turn was incredibly annoying, so I started looking for a solution. I tried a lot of things, and eventually, I found a way: in the compatibility settings (Heroes3.exe), you need to disable desktop composition (check the box). Since then, it hasn't crashed once!

Online battles were going great. I bought a laptop (also x86_64). I installed the same Win7 distribution and the same Heroes game on it and noticed the following issues: 1: When Lizardmen Warriors appear in the game (when attacking them, playing as the Swamp faction, as soon as you create them from Lizardmen, etc. If they are just standing on the map, everything is fine), the Heroes game crashes, and a Windows window appears with a suggestion to go through the Heroes game with a debugger :))). Well, I got used to it... I stopped playing as the Swamp faction (although I really liked it) and ask my opponent not to choose them, and I fight Lizardmen Warriors in auto-battle... But if you can suggest a solution, I'll be very grateful. 2: When playing, on average, once every two hours, the Heroes game freezes completely... only killing the process helps... Pridon (and everyone else who isn't aware), it's much simpler: You don't need to install anything! Do you have Shades of Darkness or Platinum? Download this archive from this website http://heroes.ag.ru/h3/ http://heroes.ag.ru/h3/maps/-campaigns/All_Heroes_Chronicles/All8ChroniclesforSOD_Rus.zip, which contains all 8 "Chronicles" in Russian as separate campaign files. Copy them into the Maps folder. Launch the game: Game - New - Campaign - Select. As for the "Chronicles" as separate discs, forget about them!

To prevent SoD from requiring the disc, install this executable file: /attachments/7503/.
It will also fix some bugs.

I might be a complete noob, but here's what the executable says:
The "heroes3.exe" object that this shortcut refers to has been changed or moved, and the shortcut no longer works.

Here's the file you downloaded; unpack it using WinRAR, for example, and move it to the game's folder. And launch the game from there! (not from the shortcut on your desktop).

It should work. It absolutely must!
