If you have one hard drive

Did you mean one partition on the hard drive?
Nothing prevents you from partitioning a hard drive into several partitions without booting into Windows >_>

Nothing prevents you from partitioning the hard drive without booting into Windows >_>

The only thing that might prevent you is a simple lack of skill (:

You don't need to format the drive – just install it on top of the existing one. The old registry is deleted, and the program quietly and peacefully resides somewhere in the Temp folder.

I would still format it for extra safety. Section C, of course. It will be more reliable.

if placed on top, glitches may occur.

No, that's not necessary. It's already paranoia. Just a surface-level fix is enough. Even cleaning the registry is enough. Well, you can also use Norton, but you need to be careful...

Glitches only occur when you install a different build/version. In other cases, there will be no glitches. Just delete the folder with the old Windows.

What’s the point? There shouldn’t be anything else on the C drive besides Windows. Why delete the folder and then reinstall it on top? Just format it, and you’ll be happy.

I only have the C drive. I don't like splitting drives – it just creates a lot of hassle later. So, I usually install it on top of the existing installation.

))))) It's also inconvenient. ))) C - for Windows, D - for programs, E - for work.
Something like that.

It's convenient for me – very convenient, even.
But when there are 2-3 discs, it becomes inconvenient...

))))))) Just as inconvenient ))) C - for Windows, D - for programs, E - for work.

C - Windows, programs. E - all sorts of unknown stuff (basically - everything), G - videos and good games :)

I have 4 drives: C, D, E, and F. Windows and all programs are on C, only games are on E, documents, music, pictures, and other stuff are on F, and all the torrents are on D – a whole bunch of them. In my opinion, this is more convenient; everything is in its place.

lol
and I have two hard drives and a box of floppy disks that rolled away somewhere

C - porn
D - porn
E - porn
G - cartoons!

F - pornographic cartoons.

2 perverts, seriously...
