Overall, the result satisfied everyone. Bay did win both matches, Portal definitely didn't lose, and World – even though we lost one game against Bay for every victory, psychologically, they still won. Players realized that they could win against the best: they understood that they were not second-rate material, but representatives of a strong and rapidly growing community. And the attitude towards us changed for the better among Bay’s players after the match.
At the same time, the interportal remained formally unfinished – because players from World and Portal hardly played each other. At that time, players asked me on ICQ: "Okay, Bay, but what is there to divide with Portal?"
I think that the second interportal was very important for its time. Even the subsequent major scandal only showed that players needed to let off steam after the tension of the matches, which meant that the result mattered. It is also worth remembering how many new players joined us then...
Now about the present. Will a new match between Bay, Portal, and World be as interesting as the previous ones? What questions should it answer? And will players ask again, “What do we have to share?”
A game without competitive spirit, without much interest, almost obligatory, is undesirable. Currently, leading players from all three resources are playing in joint tournaments; people like Vic, AlexGreat, Paladin, and other Bay players have rightfully earned respect on World through their gameplay. And our players happily play on Bay and Portal. There are also joint projects, such as the club tournament, where players from all three resources participate. In general, the resources have evolved.
I started thinking about how not to lose such a useful initiative as interportal tournaments, how to maintain the interest of leading players, and, if possible, take a new step forward. Here's what I would like to propose for discussion.
1. Reaching an agreement on a new interportal with 3 leading resources – Bay, Portal, and World.
2. ORGANIZATION OF A TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP BETWEEN RESOURCES! Yes, exactly. The same team championship or clan war that is played on World every year, but on a much larger scale: a team is an entire resource! Of course, 3 teams for a championship is too few, so...
3. We need to attract new teams from other resources so that there are at least 4 teams, even better 6, and in the most favorable scenario – 8.
4. Where can we get these teams? We need to attract foreigners! If we drew matches against Lithuanians and Chinese, that’s good. It means that these resources are ready to engage in gaming terms; they are not ashamed of their game against us, and at the same time, they felt our strength. Ideally, they are ready to take a step towards us.
Imagine this: an invitation comes to our forum, say, from the Chinese to participate in a team championship. Surely, we will at least discuss this proposal and the proposed rules, and most likely assemble a team. And the Lithuanians and Chinese will probably be interested as well. When they realize that our intentions are serious and that there will be enough teams, sports interest should arise.
I think that we should talk primarily with them if Bay and Portal support us.
Who else could play? As far as I remember, Bay played with some European resource and barely escaped defeat. Portal played with Poles, but it was a long time ago; it's unknown how things are now. How are they doing with three-player games?
In my opinion, such a tournament can definitely be held: language, mentality, distance are not obstacles here, and the interest of fans and players is guaranteed. At the same time, I see certain difficulties in its implementation.
1. The main one – a clash of titans. A colossal tournament called "Tournament of the Century" has been planned for a long time on the Heroes League.

Players from different resources were supposed to play all versions of Heroes, both old and new. It seems that they only managed to play about half of them before losing interest – the idea was too grand, almost impossible to implement, even by the clever Alan Prosto.
Perhaps together we can find 5 or 10 or more resources – Canadians, French, Czechs, Bulgarians, etc. But will we finish such a tournament? Practice shows that after 4-5 rounds of a team tournament, the desire to play rapidly decreases among the average player; I assume that foreigners may lose interest even earlier.
Therefore, there should be a maximum of 4-5 rounds in the interportal. If there are 4 teams, then it is clear – a round robin with 3 rounds.
If there are 6 teams, then a round robin with 5 rounds – difficult, but still possible.
If, suddenly, there are 7-8 teams – then 2 groups of 4 teams each, and the group winners play in the final.
Definitely, this is a feasible task!
2. Let's say we determined that there is an odd number of teams; what do we do? We make the number of teams even, and that’s it. For example, ask esteemed Dust to assemble a team of Russian-speaking league players. Many Bay players (Armageddon, DVSranger) and St. Petersburg players (Cobra, Matrosov) come from the Heroes League; they would probably happily play for it.
3. Rules. Suppose we can find common ground with Lithuanians, find it with Chinese. But that doesn't mean that at the same time, we can find common ground with both foreign resources simultaneously. In such a case, we will have to unequivocally establish general rules.
For example, when proposing to play in Lithuania or Poland, we would present a team and start learning their rules in order to participate in the tournament, while noting any obviously unacceptable points in the rules.
4. Language. Of course, it is desirable to recruit not only strong players into the team but also those who know English. At worst, create a mini-dictionary of terms so that players can at least explain the problem that has arisen.
5. Number of players on the team. I want to write that 10 per team, but this is impossible. I think that a more rational option is 5.
And foreigners can find five strong players, including replacements for those who drop out.
And our side will field five of the best with reserves.
