I installed Windows 7. It's incredibly beautiful. I'm really enjoying it, and most importantly, it runs faster than XP! It has built-in speech and handwriting recognition, and many other features. Most likely, Windows 7 will replace XP as soon as it becomes widely available.

What are your computer specs? It will definitely outperform it if it runs smoothly on office computers from five years ago.

I have a budget PC:
Processor 2 x 2.4 GHz, RAM 2 x 1024 MB, GeForce 8600 512 MB.

Even on this old hardware, it runs smoothly :)

I have the same computer. I was really happy when I got it, and now I max out the settings in all my games. And surprisingly, it doesn't lag.

How did you guess? I have Vista! Once, it even saved my computer when I foolishly installed a virus, and some clever hacker demanded money from me (well, you might have seen such things). It blocked the virus in a way that allowed me to continue working with the computer, and eventually, I was able to perform a system restore to a previous restore point.

And wasn't it possible to install an antivirus program?:) In general, Vista tends to block a lot of things... They probably have a good partnership with Kaspersky - one constantly yells about everything, the other blocks it.

I’m telling you, I personally allowed the file to run on my computer. And after the virus was installed, the antivirus software stopped working, as did 70% of my other programs. Although, according to the virus author’s intent, absolutely everything should have stopped working. Yes, I don’t have Kaspersky; I have the most aggressive security software (“Are you sure you want to run file N? AAAAAAAA!!!! Someone is running file N!!!! Oh, it’s you… Of course, you didn’t run it with administrator privileges, did you?” and other nonsense). I disabled it.
