Not a pity at all. Go to Heroescommunity, chat with players who have played the third, fourth, and fifth installments for several years. Any of them will tell you that "Heroes 4 is better" and "more strategic." The only decisive drawback of the fourth installment is that it takes more time to play than the other parts.

And here, the fourth game (and even the third) loses to Heroes of Might and Magic 2, but they still made the third game balanced, while in the fourth, they focused on scripts. And here's the result - the worst map editor. You can't change the resolution, there's no scrolling, and the scale is the same! What's the point of it? Except maybe for modifying existing maps.
You can create a landscape. Maps on grass turn out to be very beautiful. This is no longer the square, separate forest of the third game, but something more cohesive. In general, even despite some limitations in resources, thanks to imagination, you can draw very beautiful things.
The only decisive drawback of the fourth game is that it takes more time to play than other parts.

Why look for something better? For me, the second game evokes nostalgia, the third is almost the same, and the fourth and *In the Wake of Gods* are truly great! It's a very difficult choice.

I started with the second game, and some people started with the very first... I only regret that I couldn't get the first *Heroes*, but when I play the fourth game, that regret completely disappears! :smile07: :smile44:
