Posts from I'm looking for Heroes players who play quickly (1-2 minutes per turn, but WITHOUT a timer!).
I played a lot against people who would literally run around for 1-2 minutes and then immediately pass their turn (with normal settings, SOD is 6 minutes, TE is 4000+400). Judging by their save files, all these people played very poorly and always lost without a chance. If you're playing against a person, you should only play to win, and that requires more time for both strategy and battles. However, if you were to create a separate tournament with a very fast time control, promote such a tournament effectively, and manage to invite strong and respected players, that would be a different story!
I played once (right after joining), with a 2-minute time limit, and tried to maximize everything – chains, transfers, battles with units... It was an incredible rush, I must say. Unfortunately, the opponent was playing very poorly and was completely overwhelmed when, in the 2nd week, Kirra arrived with "powerful units" (a few hidden Pegasus units and a lot of money). The game reminded me of Warcraft in some ways; you need an APM almost as high as Korean players. By the way, the idea of a "blitz" tournament is very interesting; there should be a lot of excitement.
Ah, I took the question too literally. They were asking how much time you "think" you need, not how much time you "spend." Thinking for 10 minutes with a 6-minute limit doesn't seem feasible.

Sometimes there are crucial situations and battles (1-2 throughout the entire game) that you HAVE to think about. But, clearly, this isn't every turn!
The reason this issue was raised by Vovan is because strong players face such battles every turn, and not just once. This is why it takes a lot of time for each turn. Vovan brought up this issue because he doesn't understand why so much time can be spent on a single turn. By the way, the question was raised specifically after a game with me, where VO-VAN simply covered my game screen with his emotions, saying things like "Are you okay?" or "You take too long for a strong player, especially in the first week!" and so on. Despite Sag suggesting that Vovan take my daily saves and analyze them somehow after our game, Vovan still writes that there are only 1-2 battles throughout the entire game where you HAVE to think. I did send the saves, but unfortunately, Vovan didn't even try to play as me with a timer – apparently, analyzing his own mistakes and the opponent's game isn't necessary for some people. :(
There's a category of people who consider themselves pro-players and are confident that there's nothing to think about in Heroes. I don't understand players who vote that 1-2 minutes per turn is enough for them. Either you have Korean APM, as Mizrael said, or you're just pushing units in different directions. I don't know :smile32:. I agree that there are only a few battles in the game that require serious thought, because when you attack, you already roughly know what to do. But the battles themselves take time; the more battles, the more time is spent. And 1-2 minutes including battles, as VO-VAN suggests, is just... :smile40:.
I think we should still hold a blitz tournament with a 2-minute time limit. Then it will be interesting to look at the saves.
Here's a question from a newbie – I played a game with Vovan, and to be honest, he doesn't know how to play very well :) (trust me, as a grandmaster, I can tell the skill level of a player).
Let's say it's the first week of the game, and you have 20 unupgraded archers. You attack a hundred zombies. How long will that battle take?
If you time it, the poll will become unnecessary.
On Saturday, I played 4 games on GameSpy. Most people there like to play with a 2-minute time limit (+ battles). It's dynamic and fast-paced. The only downside is that you need to make sure your family doesn't interrupt. If you're playing in a club, you should only play with a 2-minute time limit – everyone is on equal footing.
Дипломатия - искусство говорить собаке "хорошая собачка" до тех пор пока не найдешь подходящую палку.
Personally, I don't intend to prove anything to anyone here, but I'm sure that no player from, say, the top thirty in the ranking (and, of course, myself) will play according to the conditions outlined in the topic title and will not tolerate being constantly rushed.

You don't even need to be a grandmaster for that. Judging by his previous question: "how to disable Armageddon and Armageddon's Blade" :D

I'll explain why I voted the way I did. The question was: How long do you usually think? I took it literally and answered accordingly. Those who play with me won't say that I play quickly – it takes me about 10 minutes on average, but sometimes it takes me half an hour. I hate it when they write: "Are you there? Are you still alive?" Like I'm in a battle, or I went out for a smoke. Sometimes I warn them in advance. From the last tournament, I think it was with SpiritTo, or Fo-Fan, I don't remember: Turn 112, the main hero has already left with the army, and the noobs spotted a scouting party behind a horde of zombies... There were about 80 of them. There's an artillery unit with a ballista and some minor units like kentaur, they're going to attack, but it's slow. And this is just the "morning" of the day. I tell Artem – go have a smoke, he eats a couple of plates of soup. But that doesn't mean I was sitting in the battle and thinking! I don't even have time to think in those 6 minutes, maybe I'm just slow, or I don't know, everything is on autopilot, I have to think on the fly while the opponent is taking their turn. And when a player takes 25 minutes, and then you look at the saves and think – what was he doing with those three heroes? – that's not a good indicator either. That's how it is

Yeah, I also found that question a bit amusing. Lately, few people even play within 4 minutes (Sem-56, Vitalik, Vigo... I can't remember anyone else) and even they are used to 6 minutes.
I would gladly play with 2 minutes, but a banner for Sex-Shops products started appearing, which constantly kicks me out of the game. Well, there are less than 100 impressions left out of 1000, and I would also participate in a 2-minute tournament.
I would have enjoyed playing for 2 minutes, but some kind of banner for "Sex Shops" started appearing, which constantly kicks me out of the game.
Sorry for the off-topic, but I recently caught a similar nuisance, and I struggled with it for a week using a licensed KIS and by completely clearing my browser, I barely managed to defeat it
... And when a player takes 25 minutes for their turn, and then you look at the save and think - what was he doing with those three heroes? - that's also not a good indicator.
In my opinion, a player has the right to think for 25 minutes about something trivial (especially if the opponent also takes that long)! It's a different matter when a player wins in the final on Jebus not through skill. This is what Vitalik wrote in the clan war: "What is a 10-15 minute turn? I can send you saves with Cobra where he takes an hour for his turn, and that's no exaggeration...", "This is a game in the final on Jebus, where I couldn't stand such a pace and didn't see a cool scarf." You need to play in such a way that time passes during the battle. And then there should be no questions about why you take so long. You have as much time as you need to think! In my opinion, "Hive" is "moving downhill"; they used to play 1800+300, now 4000+400. What does this mean? It means that before, two players up to level 141 had 4 hours and 20 minutes, and now they have 6 hours and 40 minutes. THE DIFFERENCE IS MORE THAN 1.5 TIMES.This leads to a decrease in activity. And the game is taking up a lot of time. I'm willing to participate in a SOD tournament for 2 minutes. Although, as I understand it, the author of the topic suggests 1-2 minutes with battles :) According to the poll, it would be better to write how long you spend on your turn, rather than how long you think. And in TE or SOD? I play faster in TE. I decided that SOD and voted for 5-7 minutes. Although the games vary, as do the turns.
We played with the condition that if I don't take the opponent's castle by turn 141, I consider myself the loser. The opponent built up his economy on the first turn, and on the second, seeing me with 7 angels, said that I was using cheats because I had angels in my army   . When I took his castle, killed his only hero, and attacked his father with a bunch of trolls and an eye, he surrendered.
The turn duration depends on the number of heroes, the number of battles, and the complexity of the battles. The most effective turns can be performed with the maximum number of heroes. With a very limited time, it is unrealistic to move all heroes and build chains. The strategy in such a blitz game will be completely different. I would be interested in participating in a tournament with a 2-minute time limit per turn.
