A rather interesting fact: 10 votes are required for an execution. There are 7 (6) Mafia members in the game. This means that if both groups want to execute someone (and any execution benefits them, regardless of whether it's a competitor or an innocent civilian), only three votes are actually needed for the execution. And the accused can easily get those votes, as sometimes people vote just for fun – "to be part of the group."
