If you got chocolate, consider taking a break, because your opponent probably has even more chocolate... If things are going badly for you, don't rush to surrender, maybe your opponent will give up first...
What nonsense... I doubt anyone will follow this example.
If you got dealt chocolate, consider taking a rest, because your opponent probably has even better chocolate... If things are going badly for you, don't rush to give up; maybe your opponent will give up first...
If you got dealt a King-King, consider folding, because your opponent might have Aces :D (I've had that happen, and it's very painful!) So the idea is correct. But if you take a rest when you have chocolate, and your opponent has even better chocolate, they'll immediately accuse you of cheating :D
P.S.: It's never too late to give up (c) Alekhine or something...
Thanks, Dirty, for the good analogy :D
Indeed, it's painful when you have a flush with a king, and you get beaten by a flush with an ace – and you (such an idiot!) still go all-in.
Avern:
1. If you're going to restart when you have a good situation, what's the point of restarts then? To find a worse generation for yourself and hope that your opponent has it even worse?
2. Correct, don't rush to give up.
Although, just now, I had a game where I had a real chance to win by prolonging the game for a couple of weeks. I didn't, I didn't want to. I gave away the victory. So, I don't know...
3. Let's end the off-topic discussion...
I want to say right away — this was the hardest game out of all the ones I've played on ХВ so far. The opponent fought to the very last soldier, literally!!! We took restarts, my opponent took both, I still had one left... The land turned out to be poor, and there was nothing interesting on it either ((( But I decided not to risk it and not take the restart, and since the starting heroes had gold, I decided to keep playing... The shack with wood was cut off from me, and I never reached it by the end of the game. I started pushing toward the secondary towns — took one on day 117, the other on day 121... Then I spotted a Dragon Utopia, immediately got excited and began gathering troops to clear it on day 141... but I couldn't clear it because the opponent attacked my lands and the war began... At the end of week 3, Dessa captured a secondary town and headed for the capital. Dessa came very close to my town, I combined two armies and attacked, won the fight almost without losses, and the opponent retreated... Having retaken the secondary town, I marched on the opponent's capital with 100% confidence in victory... But when I attacked the city, I met strong resistance... in the battle we bombarded each other with lightning bolts... my mana started running out, the opponent had visited a magic spring and had a large amount of mana, and kept shooting my troops. I had to retreat (the opponent had only 4 Ogre Magi left)... After replenishing my magic and gathering reinforcements, I headed for the opponent again. On 2.1.1 I approached his city and he attacked me... The situation turned bad for him and he retreated into the city... (I can say we were already recruiting everyone who was in the army with the last gold and fighting to the very last soldier)... On 2.1.1 I attacked the city and he could no longer withstand the siege...
Thank you very much for the game! Good luck in your future battles!!!
You fought well, good job. Why isn't anyone posting screenshots? :)
A CALENDAR has been added to the first post of the topic; please take note. I might have made some mistakes; if you notice anything, please let me know. If anyone knows why the tables are displayed with jagged edges, please let me know as well. :) I plan to highlight the played matches with a different color (lighten them) for clarity.
The game turned out to be quite amusing, as my opponent seemed to be having a very bad day, I guess. :smile18: I wasn't doing much better myself (I barely managed to get enough lives in the Citadel to place them, and I didn't even dream of anything more). But overall, the Swamp is definitely a good castle, no doubt, but I still need to learn how to play with it:smile39:
Thanks to my opponent for the quick match, and I wish him success in the future:smile01:
Confirming. The pictures show what was dealt. Without mines, the generator has never once left me anything:D And restarts have run out...:(
Well, in general, the only positive point is that archers were built at the start. But in total there were 18 of them. I wanted to ask for another restart, in case my opponent also had a bad start, but he didn't re-create. In the end, I also spent the first day on "acy" with him:D So I didn't take the crypt anymore. I upgraded the spearmen and went to fight the knights. It turned out to be 28 with an upgraded stack. They also got morale boosts periodically. In the end, 16 shooters and 9 halberdiers remained. I move on. I see a passage to the snows, I think it's secondary territory, and there is my only chance - the mines. There aren't many resources lying around, naturally, so 3 heroes with GG and some vague building of levels 1-4 in the Citadel. The passage to the snows was guarded by Gargoyles. Well, I went at them with my thinned-out squads, there was no choice... Here my archers got morale (+3 justified itself), and the Gargs only got it once (though also unfortunately for me). In the end, I broke through them, 14 shooters remained. The snows turned out to be another third-tier area, so I trudge on. And then Fire Elementals at the passage to my opponent. They finished my march:)

In a magical battle, the mage hero, oddly enough ;), defeated the warrior hero. And Conflux also spawns with terrifying force... Those same Phoenixes at 4/week... About the game: bare respawn, from my own dwellings only Ogres guarded by a group of Minotaur Kings, the Conservatory (minimal). Poorly placed Dwarven huts. Nothing else tasty. At the end of week 1, I capture a secondary town, Bears in the Stronghold (metro, Inferno - nearby a Hive guarded by Diamond Golems, nothing else). In the middle of week 2, I capture another secondary town - a Castle, however, in the VAST green area there is neither a Hive nor a Conservatory among what could give me troops (I checked the whole game and still had hope for the generator - no such luck). Out of 4 towns, 3 had no Slow, also an unpleasant surprise. In short, the respawn "decided" the outcome of the game; this is exactly the case when the loss happens not due to one's own clumsy hands, but due to a combination of circumstances in the form of the generator. However, thanks for the game to the opponent. A glorious battle.

The opponent lost half of his army on turn 111, had no more rests left, and didn't want to continue. Too bad.
