He didn't take basic tactics for bonus acquisition, which practically decided the outcome. After setting up in a basic formation, in the first round, not only the Black Dragons, Archmages, and Scorpions became "active," but also the champions, griffins, and minotaurs. Although the minotaurs didn't directly attack, they controlled the cell next to the archmages and devils; only the Crushers remained out of reach. Therefore, there was no need to play an unfavorable game with the Wyverns in this setup. Instead, I immediately attacked the Devils. Dirty, as he later said, thought I had air units and was blinding the Crushers. He attacked with Devils and Dragons against the Archmages. I used the Black Dragons to clear the way through the Pegasi. Ifrits and Pegasi attacked the Archmages, Scorpions attacked the Pegasi, and the unique units attacked with Wyverns. Now, not receiving blindness from the Unicorns, I blessed the Griffins (initially, I planned to use them to counterattack the Goldens, but I decided to attack the Dragons with champions and minotaurs instead). As I understand it, with this arrangement, the wagon prevents the archers from attacking the dragons in a way that would cause them to lose their unicorns in the counterattack. Also, he had extra money. I don’t have any single-hex units, like ifrits, that are capable of dealing enough damage in the first round to force the dragons to eliminate the unicorns. And if he had attacked first, the wagon would still prevent the thick griffons from removing the counterattack from the dragons, so they could burn the unicorns. Placing the dragons in the center, for example, wouldn’t be very effective either. They would be vulnerable to the Black Dragons if the archers, devils, and golden dragons attacked first.

He had enough money to buy it, so he did. In general, for an attacker, the presence or absence of a cart isn't as critical as it is for the defender, because the defender can use the cart to have dragons deal good damage, which almost destroyed me in my game with Oelm.

Hmm... but I was taught that the cart (like other machines) is the "best defense against Berserkers" in the first round. I honestly didn't know about the nuances of forcing a trade – thanks! Also, sometimes it's possible (if you can't force a trade through it) to temporarily use this cart as an additional "shield" – for example, for melee titans: because to reach the stack protected by it, the opponent will sometimes have to spend critically important time on the harmless cart. This rarely decides the outcome, but it's also worth considering...
