Congratulations to everyone on the start of the first, hopefully annual, tournament
"Newbie - 2000 and something"
As promised, the draw was posted exactly at 23:59 (huge thanks to Revan, I'm completely exhausted today, I wouldn't have managed on my own). I hope that the participants will adhere to the tournament schedule just as strictly. It's great that many have already checked in on the forum today, it's a pity that I can't split myself into 28 pieces and answer everyone. So,
1. The draw was conducted in a rather primitive way, which is easy to see. I hope that no one will ever do it this way again. I can assure you of the honesty and impartiality of the organizers - that's how I originally planned it, and no one was informed.
2. The "first pick" rule is simple. Many are asking, so I will highlight the main points in bold. Each participant has been assigned a number. So:
If an even and an odd number are playing, the one with the higher number picks first. If two even or two odd numbers are playing, the one with the lower number picks first 3. The schedule for the group stage games will be posted as soon as I get some sleep and write it. In it, the one listed first in the pair picks first. This is just for convenience. Each participant needs to play 6 games in their group over 6 weeks. Play at any time, the main thing is to finish by July 19th of this year. If you play earlier, that's only welcome. Try to agree with your "groupmates" right away.
4. Don't forget to write
reports and confirmations in this thread.
Revan (:smile41:) will rename the previous post to "Group Stage of the "Newbie-2009" Tournament" and will post the results there. If something comes up, either I or Kostya will cover for him.
5. All information will be collected in the first post; there is already a link to the current results.
6. The second stage of the tournament will be held according to the Olympic system. The top two players from each group, who have scored the most points, will advance. In case of a tie in points, the results of the head-to-head matches will be taken into account. If that doesn't help, we will hold additional matches.
7. If any
disputed moments arise during the game, don't rush to describe it on the forum, first contact me, KostyaN, or SEM_56. We will take action. Don't forget to make daily saves and reread the rules.
8. That's all for now. If I suddenly remember anything else, I will add it. Good luck!
