I had a similar problem.
I built up the town completely, cleared the entire territory, maxed out Fedya – in short, there was nothing left to do on the map. A couple of times, they captured my garrisons, but I quickly retook them, and everything went back to normal.
I never did wait for Biara – I restarted, and after a couple of months, she appeared...

I didn't even have time to defend the garrison once when Biara appeared and headed straight for my castle, where she met her end. I'm playing on Veteran difficulty, version 1.6.

I can't beat this level, I'm stuck on it. What's the trick?

you need to "preserve" your troops, and proper leveling is also important; there are STEP-BY-STEP walkthroughs available on the forum and on Google...

IMHO, the problem isn't the number of troops, but rather the AI's inactivity. I've been stuck for an unknown amount of time, holding the border. The AI only has 2 heroes who are afraid to approach the outposts if Faidaen is within one turn's distance. I've restarted the mission several times, but it doesn't help; the result is the same. I have no idea what to do.
P.S. I read other walkthroughs, and they say a demon should appear. But it never appeared during the entire game.

So, move away from the barricades, let them attack, and then you can repel them, and the red one will arrive in a month.

I took a break. I captured outposts from top to bottom, one by one. I also calmly took them back, one by one :) . It's already the 6th month, and there's still no sign of anything happening :D. P.S. Version 1.60 was installed from the "gold collection." P.P.S. I still don't understand why it's called "gold"… both DVDs are black :D.

Through trial and error, after 3 restarts, I found out that you absolutely cannot buy a map from the cartographer :D. Biara is still standing on the edge of the map, just standing there doing nothing. The experiments continue :D.

I also have the Golden Edition, and I didn't buy the map because Biara arrived too early (on the hero).

Generally, I don't like to cheat in games, but the last time I played, I just entered @Win() after about 5 in-game months.

I got tired of waiting for it... I maxed out my character, visited all the upgrade locations, held the outposts, and it became boring.

Yes, it's random. Sometimes it appears after a couple of months, sometimes not. In my opinion, if you really want to fight it, it's better to replay the mission from the beginning...

To be honest, the bug with Biara is getting tiresome. I've figured out the approximate algorithm for her inactivity, but the algorithm for her appearance remains a mystery.

So, I was playing it on the Gold Edition, and the mission wouldn't complete on any difficulty level. I downloaded the save files from this site and launched the mission from them. I played as the hero; the Necropolis creatures didn't attack, so I just waited in the castle and built up my army. Then Biara arrived. Before her attack, I saved the game and continued playing from my own save files.

Hi! I'm new here! How do I play the "Rangers" campaign in "Refugees"? I have a license, but it still freezes! Should something happen? Will Biara attack at some point, or not? I'm tired of waiting!

2katunya: Make sure you have version 1.6 of the game installed, and set the difficulty level to at least "Warrior".

Well, I don't know. I was playing Heroes, and she arrived very quickly. I didn't even have time to fully level up and get all the upgrades... Although, she quickly regretted coming... I DESTROYED HER. Version 1.6
