I can't connect to my opponent's computer; it says there's some kind of error (Heroes of Might and Magic Platinum). What could be the possible reasons? HELP!!!

Just in case, I'll ask here too - is there a patch for SOD 3.2 that removes the 100% CPU usage (like it was done in Platinum 4.1)?
Please help - I really need it (HMM3 SOD drains the laptop battery instantly), and the heroes3.exe file version 4.1 requires about 5GB of virtual disk space... It's not a good idea to use a program to tweak the CPU throttling (a workaround I found) to add idle cycles and artificially slow it down to increase battery life. :(

To be specific, first we patched the game to version 3.2, but the result was the same. We thought the problem was with Hamachi (we have Hamachi version 1.0.1.3, an old version), and here is the funniest part: after updating Hamachi to the latest version, created games stopped appearing altogether :) I've now downloaded Plan and will try it later; if that doesn't help, I think I'll download Heroes version 4.0.

I can't say for sure about the crashes - it seems to be a random thing... it depends, of course, on the provider, internet speed, etc.
There are certain patterns regarding the versions.
I've used Hamachi 1.0.1.5, 1.0.2.5, and 1.0.3.0.
In my experience, 1.0.1.5 is the most stable.
The newer the Hamachi version, the better it is protected, but this probably causes problems with "seeing" the game.
As for the game versions, 3.2 vs 3.2 and 3.2 vs 4.0 have a good connection, but 4.0 vs 4.0 sometimes shows some quirks.
And if you can't see a created game in Hamachi, check the IP address of the "creator" in Hamachi and manually search for the game and enter the IP address there.
P.S. I'm currently using Hamachi 1.0.1.5 and Heroes 3 "Platinum" 4.0.

Generally, the Hamachi issue resolved itself; sometimes, games aren't visible, but mostly it works fine. Regarding the game versions, we tried all of them, and the effect is the same. We tried playing other games through Hamachi, and everything works normally, but Heroes crashes. I believe that if it were a Hamachi issue, it would crash not only in Heroes but also in Hamachi itself. I'm starting to think the problem is with my internet provider, but why it's specifically with Heroes is unclear :smile33:
