I'm for Total Enhancement here, and I think most people are too.

Firstly, there's no difference, and secondly, not everyone has The Expansion, and not everyone wants to install it.
I'm against it ;)
I'm against it ;)
And I'm against it too! Actually, the price difference between monsters is quite significant, so let's stick to one option!

I'm kind of doubting that you're against TE :D Actually, a pointless argument could start now, like in the thread about 4 or 6 minutes ;)
I'm against TE for only one reason. The TE version will scare many people away from the tournament. And we need to play on just one version, because for TC-3 that's critical. There's a difference in the price of Naga or Hydra in SoD and in TE.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth...
Well, there is a price difference—some things are cheaper, some more expensive; perhaps it will come out to the same in total. As for what might deter people—for example, on best of ХВ there are also some tournaments on SoD and some on TE. Personally, I can give the person I'll be playing against a choice: SoD or TE; I don't see a fundamental difference, although there is some, of course—for instance, defense in TE is 20%, which makes it harder to give up than in SoD.
I completely agree with the author on this matter;) . I can offer both SoD and TE. Although, one needs to dive deep into FizMig to find the "10 differences":rolleyes: ...
P.S. And generally, I advise everyone to reread this brilliant creation (FizMig) before a tournament, and even memorize some of the numbers from it, so there aren't such emotions later::eek: :smile32: :confused: !

It seems there are no differences in combat.
There are some minor differences:
15% armor in SoD (the most important difference, in my opinion)
Antimagic - only earth in SoD, also a significant difference (increasing the role of earth)
Healing costs less but is weaker.
Hypnosis is weaker.
All of this is actively used in TC3 in ToE.
Regarding prices, there are big differences. In SoD, it's easier to buy units than in ToE, even though there are more castles. (exception - tower, where only genies are cheaper by 4000, and nagas are more expensive by 4, and mages by 3 thousand)

I considered armor and buying items as part of the "pre-battle" phase. They don't directly affect tactics during the battle.
If I used healing, it was only as a dispel. I never used hypnosis and don't really see the point, except in rare, specific scenarios. Also, I don't remember the hypnosis stats for either SoD or TE.
2) One week is allotted for each round.
3) The tournament system is group-based.
The regulations are a bit daunting. If there are 20 participants, that's 19 rounds? With a pace of 2-3 battles per week. It's hard to imagine such a marathon.
Perhaps with a large number of participants, it would be better to play a single-elimination tournament, or at least a single-elimination tournament after losing to two opponents.
And increase the time per round to 10-14 days.
