Can I install patch 1.2 directly on version 1.0?

Probably not. If it were compatible with patch v1.1, it would be around 75MB in size.

is there anything truly useful there?

besides some bug fixes and improvements to the multiplayer mode, there's nothing new.

I don't "see" any improvements in 1.2 because the gameplay has gotten worse: 1) The hero's actions on the adventure map have become "laggy" in all aspects. 2) The characteristic sound for the "Divine Power" and "Wrathful Blow" skills has been removed. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3/4 of the fixes mentioned in the patch description are not present! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Can anyone explain the first point of my arguments to me and many others? I just don't get it :D

To be honest, apart from some online game fixes, I didn't find much to like. But even that isn't bad. What else could you expect from a patch? After all, it's not an expansion pack, is it?

That’s what patches are for – to fix bugs and errors, but the Hall of Fame turned out pretty good.

The game started to noticeably lag... both when entering/exiting a castle and when pressing F8, etc.
And, in my opinion, the Hall of Fame turned out to be very poor... especially for the fifth installment of Heroes. In the third game, everything was much more civilized... I already hate the message "Mission completed"... they could at least display some statistics...

P.S. In the properties of creatures, I found "Acid Breath" for Archmages... it made me smile)))
