In the coming, mainly winter months, a series of tournaments will be held under the general name "Winter Evenings".
For each tournament, there will be one map, we will play it, and then discuss it if there is interest.
The tournament will be more suitable for those who have free time and are active, as the deadlines for matches will be tight, a maximum of a week. A strictly defined time is allocated for each map, which will depend on the number of participants and the complexity of the map. For example, if there are 3 participants, then 2 weeks will be enough to play against each other, and possibly even less, then we will simply move on to the next map faster. If there are 5, then 3-5 weeks. The results will be summarized after each map.
I will immediately note that if any of the participants has a game in other, Official tournaments, this will be a reason for additional time for games with his participation.
Perhaps, if enough people gather, we can ask for official status, but it is too early to talk about it.

The first tournament takes place on the map .....

You can play either through Hamachi or through GS on any network. As an option for the tournament, the "Winter Evening" network is open with the password "Winter Evening".

The game is played on the Equilibris version

Rules:

1) Respect your opponent and value your own and his time.

2) Applications are accepted until 5.12.08 inclusive. The first tournament starts on 6.12.08

3) Those who wish to participate must submit an application in this topic within the deadlines set by the tournament organizers.
ICQ number, if it is not in the profile.

4) If you dig up the Grail, you need a save with a completely open map puzzle, otherwise the action is considered cheating.

5) Castles are chosen:
a) by agreement of the players,
b) randomly,
c) if both options do not suit, then by elimination.

6) It is desirable to play the competition on the difficulty level specified for a given map, but you can choose any.

7) Reports should be posted in this topic. It is desirable to make saves during the game so that there are no unnecessary controversial issues. Store for a month. Claims about the game against the opponent should be made only in the presence of or after a message to one of the organizers.

8) In case of a connection break or a game crash, the last autosave of the game is loaded. Players must accurately repeat all their moves up to the moment of the connection break or game crash.

9) The duration of the turn is agreed between the players, if they cannot come to an agreement, then the declared one.

10) All controversial moments in the game are resolved by the organizers, so please notify them in a timely manner.

11) For violation of the rules in the game, a technical defeat will be awarded. For cheating (which is prohibited) - permanent disqualification!!!!

12) The organizers reserve the right to make any changes to the rules in the event of unforeseen / force majeure situations.

13) If the game is played with one of the organizers and controversial issues arise, then the other organizer will resolve them. If controversial issues arise between the organizers during the game, then they are considered by .... .

There will be 2 new features in this tournament

14) each registered participant offers 1 map. We play on the map that receives the most votes. If 2 or more maps receive the same number of votes, I will choose one of them. If one map receives more votes, then we play it, in this case I do not participate in the voting. Only the last map offered by each participant of the tournament will be accepted, after the registration is completed.

15) Let's call it the "LI rule"
Each registered participant can request a glove until the registration for the tournament is completed. Confirmation will be a post with the words "I request a glove". If someone changes their mind during this time, they need to write "I refuse the glove".
What does this give?
This gives the right, after the final game, to challenge the winner to a rematch once. By the player who took second place.
I will immediately note that only the player who lost in the final can use it, and only if both players have gloves. If the winner does not have gloves, then the loser cannot give him his, as there will be an incomplete set :D :D :D.

If there are 2 or 3 players, why not play in a round? If there are 4-5 players, it will take longer in a round, so we'll decide then. If there are more than 5, we'll play in groups. :rolleyes:

online matches are not planned until next year... we can work on the regulations... and friendly matches on the Iron Battleground can already be submitted to the table without waiting for December 5th :smile51:

You understand everything correctly :).
The fact that you're playing in a tournament adds a bit of spice to the game, even several spices. That's why I suggest adding more excitement and buzz to simple games.
And it's just nice when you're praised after a victory, told "well done," and after a defeat, you're supported and told where you made mistakes.
At the very least, it's just nice to chat about the game :rolleyes:.

Maybe we should adjust the map? For example, speed up the opening:D.

Papalars created a map. It would be great to play it. And Circle of Life (not very original, I know) hasn't been played in ages :)

Besides Iron and Circle, I suggest Splin, Dark, and Dalia, Will and Reason, and Ruins of Zeeland. The last four are from our team. We need to test them out.
