LeGEND of kyrandia i

Well, let's get started! Back in the distant year of 1992, Westwood Studios (few remember them now :) ) released a wonderful quest, The Legend of Kyrandia, which won the hearts of millions of gamers worldwide! What was so special about this ordinary quest? Seemingly ordinary controls, a fairly standard plot, unremarkable graphics. What could make people sit for hours at this game? The answer is simple: atmosphere! A player sitting down to play this masterpiece experienced indescribable sensations that could not be compared to anything. But let's take it one step at a time :).
Plot
The plot is not as simple as it seems in the first few minutes of the game! Brandon, Kallak's grandson, comes to visit his grandfather (Kallak :) ) and instead of his beloved grandpa, finds a stone. Without thinking twice, he blames everything on Malcolm (an evil mage who returned from somewhere after the aforementioned Kallak banished him somewhere :) ). Later it turns out that Malcolm practices evil magic that turns everything to stone. And according to the laws of the genre, Brandon becomes determined to restore his grandfather's normal appearance (though in my opinion, he's not bad as a stone either :) ) and defeat the evil mage. And so begins the tracking of Malcolm, etc., etc.
The game features both a main objective (which I've rambled about a bit above :) ) and secondary ones that you will receive as you go through the game, but I want to tell you that the secondary quests are very well woven into the main quest of the game. Well, that's all for the plot, otherwise I'll tell you everything and it won't be interesting to play :)!
Graphics
Graphics... Well, what kind of graphics could there be in 1992? :) Although there were already quests made in 3D at that time, Westwood passed on that! And that was probably correct, since in 2D you can make things more beautiful than in 3D, and the system requirements of not all computers allowed for pure 3D (at the time :) ). As for the graphics in the game, even for that time, they were a bit outdated, although they were in high demand. What can I say, it's better to see for yourself :). Brandon's face when he turns toward us is a "square circle" with dots for eyes and a strip of pixels for a mouth (I didn't notice a nose on him :) ). All other characters are made the same way, just with a different hairstyle and clothing :) (but it looks quite cute if you don't look at the face). The backgrounds, of course, deserve special attention and a high rating. Excellently drawn and thought out to the smallest detail, they look simply stunning (of course, the "squareness" didn't pass them by either :) ). There is no animation in the game as such, just the movement of characters and the movement of the river, and that's it. In general, the graphics correspond to the year 1990, not 1992 in which it was released.
Sound
Sound, but there is no sound! No, of course, there are sounds, but not "Sound". And these sounds are a bit grating, as you won't hear "Dolby Surround" from the speakers :) . Music in the game is only during the intro, and in a few moments of the game (the same "Dolby Surround" :) ).
Interface
As for the interface, everything is banally simple. In the center, taking up half the monitor (which is a bit disappointing, but the game requires it :( ), we see the game screen. Below is a field for the name of the game location where you currently are. Further down is the menu button, inventory, and an amulet (which you will receive during the game). And that's it; control is carried out by the mouse and its single button. Even an African elephant could figure this out :).
Drawbacks
If after the above description you think the game is without flaws, you are mistaken. There are drawbacks, and the first one you notice immediately after starting: the text appears on the screen very sluggishly, giving the impression that Brandon has speaking problems. The dialogue with the living tree is especially irritating, during which I almost fell asleep :) ! The second drawback is, of course, the graphics :( . Next comes the sound :( and a TERRIBLY inconvenient inventory, which is never enough for anything! This is very apparent during the quest with the stones (those who played will understand me :) ). There is also a terrible (but kind inside :) ) segment of the game where you have to go through a maze, which almost had me shaking with fever (tip: draw this maze on a piece of paper).
And, probably, one of the main drawbacks is the localization; due to the translation, one item disappears, without which it is impossible to complete the game. (But there is already a save on the Internet that fixes everything, you can contact me for it :) )
Conclusion
Well, that's it; the conclusion is not straightforward. Because it is an excellent quest with a good plot and atmosphere, which is marred by the graphics and completely ruined by the wretched sound! Of course, I recommend playing it to everyone who judges not by the graphics, but by the excitement and interest. This is more than just a game (with bad graphics :) :( ), it is a moment of Kyrandia's life that the player experiences...
