Fifth Joint Tournament for Heroes of Might and Magic of three forums:
HeroesWorld, HeroesLeague and HeroesPortal
HeroesWorld, HeroesLeague and HeroesPortal
"Arena Champion".
Tournament Rules:
1. General Provisions:
1.1. The tournament will be held from October 22 to November 24, 2008.
1.2. The tournament is conducted simultaneously on three Internet resources: HeroesLeague, HeroesPortal, HeroesWorld
1.3. The tournament is held on the following game versions:
Heroes II: The Price of Loyalty 2.1 (English), Heroes II: The Price of Loyalty 2.1 (Russian). Playing on earlier versions of the game, where many bugs have not been fixed, is prohibited.
1.4. Any registered user of one of the three forums — HeroesPortal, HeroesLeague, HeroesWorld — can participate in this tournament; an identical final tournament table will be posted on all three sites. However, it is strongly recommended to register on the HeroesPortal, HeroesLeague, and HeroesWorld sites so that bonuses can be received on all three forums.
1.5. Tournament winners receive rewards corresponding to each of the resources (rating, fiefs, arroba, mines) on each resource. On the Heroes League, this is the most important final tournament of the year; its winner will receive the title "Heroes League Champion" and will proudly bear it throughout the next season.
1.6. ATTENTION!!! Throughout the tournament, the player IS OBLIGED to make saves for the start or end (both options are mandatory) of EVERY game day and store them on their computer! The judge has the right to demand daily walkthrough saves and explanations from ANY player, up to a description of the tactics of a specific battle.
In the absence of satisfactory explanations (from the judges' point of view), the player's result is annulled.
If there is a satisfactory description of the walkthrough but necessary saves are missing, the player is credited with a defeat. The statute of limitations (during which daily saves must be stored) is 7 days after the results of the round are summarized.
1.7. The tournament leads are Dust on HeroesLeague, Lion Star on HeroesPortal, and Qwerty on HeroesWorld.
1.8. The player must name their final save with their nickname followed by "arena" and send it to: hmm2@mail.ru
2. Walkthrough Restrictions:
2.1. It is strictly PROHIBITED to use cheat codes, forbidden bugs and game features, hack saves, or manipulate computer players in hot-seat mode during the final run. The use of standard cheat codes for initial save reconnaissance is permissible. However, after conducting reconnaissance, the player must load the starting save and start the game again.
2.2. Rule for digging up the Ultimate Artefact (UA). UA can only be dug up after visiting ALL obelisks. To prove this fact, the player must send another save to the organizers along with their final save, showing that all obelisks were visited before digging up the UA. "UA" must be added to the end of such a save name.
2.3. Moving a hero who escaped/bought off in battle on the day they escaped/bought off. Buying back such a hero is allowed on the day of escape/buy-off;
buying back and moving your dismissed/killed in battle hero is only possible the next day after their dismissal/death;
if a hero escaped/bought off/died in battle during a turn transition, they can be bought back and moved immediately;
It is also forbidden to buy back "leveled-up" computer heroes (a hero is considered leveled-up if their experience, secondary and/or primary skills, spellbook contents, or the presence of a spellbook differ from the standard starting ones).
2.4. Visiting graveyards, demon caves, and ghost ships. Ships with skeletons may be visited.
2.5. The use of "Haunt" magic and the "feeding" technique for spirits is prohibited; i.e., only one battle with a given squad of spirits is allowed, and it is mandatory to make a save before the battle and immediately after it.
2.6. Buying spirits (ghosts) is prohibited.
2.7. Using monster growth weeks +5 and months of double monster population increase is prohibited. In case such weeks and months occur, the player must "roll back" until these specific weeks and months do not appear. In case of great difficulty, the player may send a PM (private message) to the tournament judge; if the judge decides that this phenomenon does not distort the Gameplay, further play may be possible.
2.8. Taking genies and the "Sphere of Negation" artifact to the arena.
2.9. Taking "Anduran" in assembled form to the arena.
3. Tournament Goal:
3.1. Game goal: prepare a fighter hero.
Within the allotted time, the player tries to level up their hero in the best way possible, studies the best and most useful magic, recruits the strongest warriors into their army, collects the most powerful and necessary artifacts, to then face an equally leveled-up opponent's hero on the arena. The player chooses for themselves whom they will train — the starting hero or any other newly released hero.
3.2. After the first stage of the game, the lead creates a duel map — "arena" — to which the fighter is transferred with troops identical to the sent save, their placement, primary and secondary skills, luck and morale modifiers, mana, and artifacts. All participants who reach the finish will be sent "arenas" with their heroes.
Tournament participants will be divided into several groups (depending on the number of saves sent), in which they will fight each other to earn points. Then, according to the places taken, they fight players from other groups, thereby determining the distribution of places in the tournament and identifying the winner.
7 days after the arenas are sent, each player may write their verdict on the results in a reply email.
3.3. The final awarding of arena results is carried out by the tournament lead.
4. Preparing the Final Save.
4.1. The final save should be made on the first day of the fifth week (2-1-1).
4.2. All heroes except the main one must be dismissed. The hero must be at least level 12.
4.3. The email with the save must contain:
-) the winning save itself;
-) email subject — player nickname;
-) indication of nicknames on all three resources;
For example, email subject Arena - Alex_R,
a save named Alex_R arena is attached to the letter, and the letter says: nickname on League is so-and-so, nickname on Portal is Alex_R HW, nickname on World is Alex_R.
5.1. Download the save and map.
Note: The save and map are archived using WinRar 3.62.
5.2. The downloaded save must be placed on your computer in the Games folder within the directory where Heroes 2 is installed.
5.3. Load it and start playing at any time convenient for you, while not forgetting to make daily saves at the beginning and end of each game day.
5.4. Save on 211, naming this save according to the requirements.
5.5. A full description of the tournament map is encouraged (optional). If there are any, a contest for the best description will be held; the top 10 (the very best) will take their honorable place in the "Hall of Fame" section!
5.6. Send this save to the specified address (in these tournament rules).
5.7. Wait for the results.
