For music, Winamp 2.8 is recommended, and for video, LA + PowerDVD4.

Windows Media Player 11 (it’s worth having because it’s a licensed version), Winamp (I used to use it exclusively), AIMP2 (now I’ve switched to this program – it’s convenient for working on the computer, it’s compact, and it has a pop-up menu for switching between songs – it’s quite nice overall), jetAudio (for some movie formats), and a bunch of other things... :D I also have a fun program called USSR installed on MKVFile, which has a lot of applications for different video formats :D

Currently, I'm using Light Alloy; I'm just too lazy to download anything else, sometimes I use wmp.

By the way, I think this topic would be more appropriate in the "PC World" section, as a media player can be used not only for listening to music, but also for watching videos or listening to audiobooks.

Switched to AIMP2. I can’t say for sure, but it seems more convenient than Winamp. The sound is better. By the way, check out this skin; it’s really great, and you can set any color in the settings. I currently have green.

I'll have to try it. But I doubt I'll like it.
I finally managed to install Winamp (how could I have written above that it was "broken"), and the interesting thing is that I still don't use it. I continue to listen in WMP; maybe it's just a habit?

Well, it's quite specific. If you prefer working directly with the library rather than with individual playlists, then you probably won't like it.

Playlist? I don't see much need to use it for myself. If I'm playing (for example, in Diablo) and listening at the same time, then, of course, a playlist will be useful. (In Heroes, it's different; I always play in windowed mode, so I can easily turn on any song/album I want at any time).

I thought I'd switch back to Winamp, and the lag would stop, but here we are, what a mess.

And here I am again, using Winamp. Because I finally learned how to minimize it to the system tray instead of the taskbar.

At the very beginning, I used WMP, then I visited my brother, saw Winamp (a month after I got my computer), and downloaded it. And only with it did I get used to it, I know everything, I can do everything (sort of :). There are a few useful plugins. There are also skins, but for some reason, I use the Classic skin.

I don't use Winamp at all. My antivirus doesn't like this program; when playing the next track, there's a brief freeze, after which the antivirus displays a message saying that a dangerous action has been blocked, and then everything is fine. It's very annoying, so I had to stop using it altogether.
