I personally am a big fan of this style, and I would like to know what others think.

I would like to know which bands (just a couple of examples) characterize their style in this way.
But it seems like Nazgul is Melodic Death.

Didn't listen to Nazgul. I don't think it's mdm. Maybe I'm wrong. The three most well-known bands in this style are: Children of Bodom (the Finnish branch of the style), In Flames (the Swedish branch of the style), and Arch Enemy (the Swedish branch of the style). There are also many other bands from different countries.

Arch Enemy - That's cool! I just can't seem to get their albums... I'm just lazy... but I'm already halfway there. :)
In Flames - I've heard a little bit, but it seems pretty good.

Bands that play in this style know about rhythm, unlike brutal death metal (and even in regular death metal, few people have heard of it)... I don't consider this style to be a degradation, but it's still a bit boring...

It seems you haven't heard of progressive metal; it's interesting in itself, although some bands do have interesting elements, like Children of Bodom (by the way, it's not just melodic; you can also hear power metal, neoclassical metal, and thrash metal in their music; I would classify them more as technical death metal), but still, it's not that interesting...

More interesting bands: Netherbird (Melodic Black Death Metal, but they focus more on atmosphere), Cynic (Technical Death/Death-Jazz (cyber) - a very atmospheric band that plays very well), Textures (Math Metal/Technical Death - they definitely have some elements of it), Hypocrisy (since they started playing melodic), Engel ((Melodic Death/Metalcore - I like them)).

But I can't understand the statement that death metal bands don't know rhythm, no matter what. Explain.

Well, the rhythm is specific; it sometimes gets lost due to the speed of the performance, and for example, CRYPTOPSY - Worship Your Demons, this composition makes you sleepy, for example, although for some, it's a standard...

as the connoisseurs like it))) CoB is not MDM!! it's power/speed metal with harsh vocals...
but in general, I really like Finnish MDM, like early CoB, Norther, Insomnium, and also Finntroll as having MDM influences)

According to Laiho, their latest album was purely a commercial project! He didn't want to record it; he was drinking and "enjoying" his pessimism, but a contract is a contract, and the pop melodies of Children of Bodom had to deliver, performing as expected)). That's how this incomprehensible thing came about.
Oh yes, and the video for Smile Pretty For The Devil is simply the epitome of indifference! Blooddrunk was still decent, but after that...

Well, Banned from Heaven is still pretty good. Although their latest album is definitely a step down.

That's why you listen to hard rock and heavy metal... Well, Iron Maiden and other heavy metal bands probably can't compare to Isis, Canvas Solaris, Protest The Hero, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Sikth, Meshuggah... But still, give me a link to the album or its name, just in case.

Not necessarily for you) for me, a style is always more interesting when it incorporates many styles (the one that combines them better is the best). I was just hinting at what makes them more interesting than the bands listed above, although I forgot to mention DivelDriver (I'm not sure if I should consider them melodic or if their melodic quality comes from groove metal, but all their singles are worth listening to).

I really like this style. Children of Bodom forever! They're my favorite band. As for their latest album, I agree – they messed up a bit. If it weren't for "Tie My Rope," this album would be a complete failure! In terms of hit songs, it's inferior to "Are You Dead Yet": "In Your Face," "Next In Line," "Living Dead Beat," "Are You Dead Yet" versus just one hit, "Tie My Rope" – that's too much of a difference. The only good thing is that they didn't go as far into modern metal as In Flames. "Hatebreeder," "Follow The Reaper," "Hate Crew Deathroll" – these are my favorite Children of Bodom albums. I'd also like to mention Dark Tranquillity, the band that has remained most faithful to the style and, along with In Flames, is one of its founders. They have interesting music too. 2 kj1313: You seem to be a big music fan! For some reason, I never have enough time to listen to everything. Even now, out of everything you listed, there's a lot that I'm not familiar with... Nevertheless, I just downloaded the album "Focus" by the band Cynic from our local network. Unfortunately, it doesn't really grab me; it reminds me of Muse in some ways. Maybe you can recommend something heavier? :rolleyes:

I somehow always don't have enough time to cover everything. And now, of what you listed, a lot is unfamiliar to me... But nevertheless, I just downloaded the album of the band Cynic from the local network. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite grab me, it reminds me of Muse in some ways :) Maybe you can recommend something heavier? :rolleyes:

Listen to Meshuggah, they are very heavy, by the way, they can be attributed to Technical Death Metal. Well, I also listen to a couple of Muse songs....

What should I recommend? I basically wrote it above, or should I recommend something specific in terms of style?
