it doesn't offend, but it's annoying... it's like watching the same terrible movie every day for six months. (by the way, and very often the chatter in the chat also reminds me of this terrible movie :\..... probably that's why I liked the pub, because there was no such thing.)

What do philosophical discussions have to do with it? More like heartfelt conversations... a place to express yourself... (and there's a section for philosophy). No, the "pub" was a place to relax from the idiocy... And "pub" is just a name... the meaning can be slightly different. P.S. And also, you can't have serious conversations in the chat... there are always silly jokes, nonsense, etc. If you want to talk about something and start writing, everyone ignores you... but if you start making fun of something, everyone shows up right away... apparently, that's more interesting :\ arguments, fights, etc. ...but in the "pub" you could write about the same things, and many people would respond... and if you create the same chaos there, you can just ignore everyone and simply moderate the sections, deleting off-topic posts and closing threads. Or just chat in a private message with one normal person... P.P.S. And don't hint about the popularity of the "pub"... I deleted it the first time... or maybe the second.

Hello Arandor, you probably recognized me right away, I'm an old fan of the Tavern. A big request not to close it. I visit the chat and philosophy pages less often, but the Tavern is THE THING — looking at the posts there, this is already the second time I've spoken out against its closure. Yes, I rarely visit HeroesWorld now, the thing is, I'm renovating at home and the computer is simply unplugged. Right now I'm writing from work — I mean, I'm at work and writing from the work computer. So, don't touch the sacred place; the posts there were simply a delight to read.

Well then. Looks like our only reasonable option is compromise. If that's the case, I'm closing this thread and creating an official chat room.
