The female half of the Dungeon faction has a better appearance than the male half (Ilya is awesome!). As for the overall appearance, Loken is right that it's unappealing. A covered face and body are not impressive, and even annoying.

Well, these masks are special and designed so that gender isn't distinguishable in battles and on the map... especially for Warlocks and Necromancers. IMHO... the former are too covered up (like mages in general), and the latter have bones... in general, it all looks a bit strange.
But on the portraits, on the other hand, I like the masks... at least there's some difference in the faces.

Here, the Necromancers don't need a female hero model because they mostly deal with corpses. A female model would be more suitable for the Dwarves and the Elves (Light Elves). By the way, it seems that noblewomen used to ride sidesaddle (i.e., with both legs on one side).
Also, females are usually smaller than males, but all the demons seem to be exceptionally large, and with such a physique, it's no wonder Daleb was nicknamed "Meat Grinder." And in general, when I see a demon hero, I get the impression of a samovar.

Faiza and Nazir have disfigured faces; one has burns (because he worked for a long time in sulfur mines while a prisoner of the demons), and the other has scars after a clash with desert orcs, and Sinithar wears a mask because it is one of the symbols of the Dark Elves.
