I believe in superstitions that have been passed down through the ages and inherited from our distant ancestors. These superstitions mainly relate to the weather.

That's correct. They are most often based on the behavior of animals, which sense changes. This is completely different from "Aaaah! You broke the mirror! Now you're going to have seven years of bad luck!"

I don't believe in superstitions, but because my mom always told me that if you're coming home, you should look in the mirror, I now automatically glance at it. And if I forget, I feel uneasy afterward... I know, it's silly...

Many people confuse omens and superstitions. Most omens are true because they are based on constant observations of animal behavior, changes in the environment, and so on. (I think I could provide an example with a scientific basis, but I don't know any omens.) Superstitions, on the other hand, have no basis, at least most of them don't. So what if a mirror broke, or a black cat crossed the road? Why should things suddenly go wrong? It's probably just a random coincidence. I'm getting at the fact that I believe in omens (even though I don't know them :D), but not in superstitions.

When I play as the Swamp faction and see several piles of sulfur behind regular guards on day 111, it usually means that Hydras will appear in the first week... It's a pretty reliable sign. :) But in general, I don't know, it seems like few people believe in omens, but I remember in 11th grade, I saw ordinary girls walking to take a difficult final exam in the morning, and suddenly, right in front of them, a cat ran out of the bushes and crossed their path. They immediately turned around and went another way, even though they didn't seem like the type to believe in omens... And I also remember we were walking, and a cat tried to cross our path three times right in front of us, as if on purpose, but we chased it away each time.

As a rule, omens come true only for those who believe in them.

It's quite a philosophical topic. Here, everything is decided by psychology. If a person believes in omens that signify their future, it will happen. Although, it doesn't depend solely on belief, but also on the theory of probability. There is always a possibility of anything happening. But not everything is always possible.

Omens can be different. Usually, they refer to all sorts of silly things (for example, the supposed rule that you shouldn't greet someone across a threshold). But theoretically, those omens that aren't absurd might carry accurate information, confirmed by human experience. For example, if a barrier gate closes, a train will soon pass, something like that.

Superstitions are nonsense that people invented to make life more interesting. When superstitions were created, there were no computers or televisions.
