TV has an influence – this is proven. Older generations are outraged by the filth, vulgarity, and cruelty. And young people shrug their shoulders: what's so bad about it?
The older generation grew up in a different atmosphere. For them, much of what is on today's TV is disgusting. And the younger generation grew up on this TV. This food (spiritual nourishment) is normal for them.
Well, there's no need to be so categorical... There are some decent shows or movies out there. Although, it's true that nowadays there are a lot more programs like "Dom 2" and all sorts of idiotic talk shows, and movies are often something like "American Pie." That really does kill your brain cells.

When NTV or some other channel shows another graphic scene (and I've stumbled upon these several times), or a recording from a phone showing someone being beaten, and it goes on for a long time with every detail, you just want censorship. But as for those little revelations, well, I really don't know, I'm a teenager myself, and I like revelations. :)

That's not true; there are a lot of interesting programs and movies on television. If you want, I can give you some examples: Galileo, Aviators, Top Gear, Glavnaya Doroga, MythBusters, The Smartest (not all of them), Heroes (I like it, IMHO), Smallville. There used to be a movie on the Zvezda channel about airplanes and how aviation developed in our country. On the Rossiya channel, they often show films from the 19th and 20th centuries about secret weapons of that time, what problems there were, and so on; in general, it's a documentary film. Most of them are shown constantly; I don't think I'm a "fool" according to your definition. Because I learned a lot of interesting things from them, and I just enjoy the movies!

That's too categorical. If a person is smart, they won't succumb to the harmful influence of television.
There's a lot of interesting content on Kultura. NTV should be banned... All these "Maximums," you wouldn't believe it, and so on.
For example, I recently saw an ad: "You won't believe it, someone stole Valeria's wardrobe." The question is - who would be interested in that?

But why do we need Akhmatova's intimate life? If we love her poetry, then vulgarity is repulsive to us. And if we don't know who she is, then why should we care what century she lived in and who she slept with?

Back when Parfyonov was on the NTV channel, and the Red Arrow train was traveling across our country, the channel was truly interesting. Now, in terms of content, it can compete with the Yellow Newspaper.
I don't often watch NTV, but in my opinion, it's much better than DTV – with its court shows – and TNT – with its "DOM"10. And even so, there are some good programs on it on weekends. IMHO.
