Posts from Additional maps!
When there's nothing else, even a map can be a source of entertainment :) But when the editor comes out... Ah, dreams:D
For now, we'll enjoy the maps... I wonder if we'll even get an editor or a generator??? I have no doubt about the latter... it will be there... but an editor is unlikely, and the installer will be quite large...
Could you please tell me if the development of new maps is underway?
How do I make these maps available in Multiplayer? They are only available in Single-player (((
Download the mod, unpack it into the "Data\" directory in the game folder. After unpacking, you will see a "Maps\Multiplayer\L5\" directory inside, which contains the map itself. This is a modified version of the "Ascension to Power" map (L4).
Now, about the modification itself:
1. Open the file "<game directory>\Data\data.pak" using Total Commander or an archiver. Inside, find the "Maps\Multiplayer\" folder, where the maps are stored in separate folders. Choose the one you like, extract the entire folder into the "Data" directory. Create the same path as it was inside the file, i.e., "<game directory>\Data\Maps\Multiplayer\" and move the extracted map there. I recommend creating a folder with a different name so that both the original and the modified map are available.
2. Open the "texts.pak" file and extract the text data into the map folder, following the same principle as in step 1.
3. Remove the "Read-only" attribute for all the contents of the folder.
4. Inside the map directory, open the "L4.xdb" file in a text editor (use Notepad or something similar). The file name in the original matches the folder name. Search for the "" tag in the text, followed by a description of the players. For each player (player information is between the ... tags), change the value of the team – this is the number between the 0 tags. If you are modifying a map for 8 players into a map for 4 teams of two, then set the team to 1 for the first two players, 2 for the next two, and so on. Once the team numbers are set, save the file.
Next are optional steps, but if you want everything to look nice and clear, it is better to do them.
5. If there is a "map-tag.xdb" file, open it. It is intended for information on how the map will be displayed in the menu. Modify the team section, which is between the ... tags. Leave as many "2" as there are teams, and write the number of players in the team as a number. Save the file.
6. And as a final touch, change the name of the map to indicate that it is an alliance map. To do this, change the text in the "Caption.txt" and "Name.txt" files.
Download the mod
Could you upload them somewhere else, or send them to my email? valedink@gmail.com, valedink@mail.ru
Thanks in advance!
Unfortunately, all the files mentioned in this topic have already been deleted from the server... What a pity.

Or rather, it wasn't deleted; FTP is just temporarily unavailable right now.
or maybe you could explain how to unpack data.pac? I've downloaded the maps, but I don't know what to do with them next:confused:
