Heroes will become perfect for me when ERM is no longer so scary and confusing, when there is a free Object Editor (at least for monsters and artifacts), when inexperienced or malicious mapmakers disappear (those who like to place 9999-unit monsters at the end or 350 at the beginning), and when... (an infinite number of things).

My dream: to add maps four times larger than XL to *In the Wake of Gods*, as well as more artifacts, spells, monsters, and at least eight more difficulty levels.

I disagree with Max96. When you become invincible in the middle of the game, it gets boring. And you need to defeat difficult AI opponents, so you run across the entire map to the first, second, or third one... then, by the time you reach the dungeon, make a portal, find the cartographer, see the AI, and rush towards it, it immediately sends a weak hero to some faraway place, and you rush after it... imagine how much time that takes. Can you imagine? Now multiply that by four.

Ideally, there should be a lot more variety in the heroes and factions. Around 25 different factions would be great. In the next installment, the developers should create millions of artifacts. Also, they should add a feature where players can initially befriend each other and then suddenly start attacking each other.
It would also be great if players could create their own factions and heroes, not just maps.
Imagine if there was an option to choose what kind of fate to give to a conquered castle: destroy the castle, demand tribute (and if they don't pay the tribute on time, you decide whether to "execute or pardon"), or manage it yourself.
