The third stage of the annual John Van Caneghem Heroes 3 tournament

TOURNAMENT RULES

1. To participate in this Heroes 3 "Devil's Gambit" tournament, you must register on our website www.heroesworld.ru and submit an application in this thread.

This tournament is part of the general John van Caneghem tournament, so all information, as well as the conduct and results, will be displayed in this section.

Note: The final results of the tournament will also be available in the offline Heroes 3 tournaments section.

2. The tournament will be held on the Russian version of Heroes 3 SoD. The save file will be generated using version 3.2.

3. The goal of the game is to score the most points by the end of the scenario. The second criterion for victory is the number of days it takes the player to complete the scenario; if there is a tie in days and points, the winner will be determined by the total number of units – demons + horned demons – in the army of one hero.

The submitted save file must contain the abbreviation (VC - van Caneghem) and the player's nickname.

Example:

VC_Ley.GM1 or VC-Ley.GM1

4. The result will primarily be evaluated based on the highest number of points.

5. Along with the submitted save file, you must include a description of the last step (battle with a hero, battle for a castle, capturing an artifact, defeating the last monster) after which the victory occurs, or the scenario is completed.

6. The submitted save file may have multiple heroes, but the third criterion will only be determined by the number of units of one hero.

8. Send the save file to the email address Ley.

9. In case of suspicion that a player is cheating, or has other malicious intent while playing the map, it is necessary to create a save file for each game day.
In this case (detection of cheating), the player will be required to send additional save files and provide a description of the gameplay to determine whether the game was fair or not, to the tournament organizer.
The result of a player who played unfairly will be annulled, and their further participation in tournaments will be impossible. This will also affect their reputation negatively.

10. Discussion of the tournament during its course is PROHIBITED!!!
(Players who violate this rule will automatically lose the opportunity to participate in the tournament; their results will be canceled and not counted).

11. The tournament starts on April 8th and lasts until May 2nd (inclusive!). The results will be announced on May 6, 2008.

12. After you submit your save file, you will see in the application table that:

save accepted - indicated by a bold nickname.
save approved - indicated by an italicized – bold nickname.

We invite everyone to take part in the tournament!

Save files will only be considered from players who are listed in this table, so please submit your applications IN ADVANCE!!!

The starting save file will be released on April 8th


1. Download the save file.

2. The downloaded save file must be placed in the GAMES folder of your installed Heroes 3 game.

3. Load it and start playing at any time that is convenient for you, while remembering to create daily saves.

4. After reaching the last action (after which victory occurs), you need to save again.

5. With the final save file, provide a detailed description of the last step (most likely a battle); this will speed up the results process and reduce suspicions of cheating!!!

6. A complete description of the tournament map is encouraged (not required). If there are any, a competition will be held for the best description. The top five will take their place of honor in the "Feats of Our Best Heroes" section!

7. Send this save file to the specified address (in the rules of this tournament).

8. Wait for the results to be announced.
