Hello! Please help me with some advice – I have a Dell Core Duo 2200 laptop, GeForce 8600M GT 256Mb, and the operating system is Vista Home Basic, all licensed, of course. I installed Heroes V from a licensed DVD, along with DirectX 9 from the disc; the installation went smoothly. When I try to launch the game, the system says that the disc is missing, and I should insert the game disc. Is there any way to fix this? (I haven't installed any patches for the game yet). Did you insert the disc into the CD-ROM drive? I have Vista, and everything works... It's possible that the CD-ROM drive is not working.

I wrote that I installed "Heroes V from a licensed disc" - which means the ROM works, and the disc is also there. After installation, the autorun from the disc offers to start the game - but after selecting this option, a Windows error appears - "Insert the game disc into the drive."

So, the problem is with the disc itself... Usually, in such cases, it is suggested to visit friends and see how it works for them...

No, it's not because of Vista... Everything works for me. Maybe there's something wrong with the CD-ROM, as I already said... I don't see any other reasons.

For Vista, you need to download a patch for StarForce protection. This is a common problem; you can find the patch on the StarForce website or on the Igromania disc.

Some video cards are not compatible with Heroes 5. Please read the Readme file and make sure that your video card is not on the list of incompatible hardware.

Hey, what does the graphics card have to do with it? The game isn't even recognizing the disc.
