Posts from Necromancer – “Invasion” [Campaign 3, Mission 3]
Is it possible to spend a few months on the first island, upgrading castles and building an army?
This time, in version 3.0, I spent a long time in the previous mission to get a complete set of dark magic spells. As a result, the enemy's last castle had 65 titans and everything else. But for my super-upgraded Godric, that's not a problem. I'll learn all the summoning spells in this mission.
Markel must eliminate everything that moves and doesn't move every week.
In version 3.0, I landed near the Colossi, recruited the undead, captured the southern Castle, and immediately cursed it. I decided to head north, sweeping away everything in my path. But then, Hafiz suddenly appeared from the darkness and defeated my Markel. Moreover, the main force consisted of 600+ Stone Gargoyles under a Celestial Shield. He also had 15 Titans, 100+ Battle Mages, and 300+ Alternative Golems.
I started over. I acted exactly the same way again. And again, I met Hafiz with a similar army. This time, I decided not to engage him for the time being. I put Markel and the Deidre I bought in the tavern on ships, the same ships that Markel and Isabella arrived on.
I left Isabella in a hideout for guerrilla warfare. She managed to capture a Castle and return to the hideout in 1 turn, as soon as Hafiz left the Castle. This continued until a hero came from the north, with whom Isabella could not cope. She only had 22 peasants.
Markel headed to the southern port of another island. I reached level 10 of Wrath. Then a druid happened to be in the way. Thanks to the Sextant, Markel caught up with him. There were some losses. At the end of the battle, this bastard used Armageddon. Luckily, his magic is weak. I had to quickly finish off the remnants of his army so that he wouldn't do it again.
While Markel was chasing the druid, Hafiz also appeared at sea. The Sextant helped to escape from him. Deidre was already near the island. I had already said goodbye to my two cities when Hafiz unexpectedly turned back and returned to his island. I didn't see him again.
Markel captured and cursed 2 more cities in the north without any incidents. Now he is approaching the southern city and even defeated the hero standing at the gates. However, after looking at Narhiz's army in the city, he decided to retreat to meet Ore, level 19 (I bought her in the tavern), who was bringing him 80+ Archliches and other troops.
There was a level 5 Mage Guild in the northern city. I got a Phantom and a Phoenix. I received the "Cursed Land" ability. I want to see if it works on Phantoms, which mages love to summon. If so, the Phantoms should disappear without making a single move.
Game version 1.60, Gold Edition
I immediately headed south, captured a Castle, got the Staff, cursed a town, then went east, captured and cursed it, swam across the strait, captured it, and got the Cloak!!! I completed it without dragons. When I reached Al... that jerk ran away. I didn't capture the town, I recruited 25 dragons, captured Al..., and that was it :smile35:
Markel spent about 90% of his turn, and I spent about the same percentage of my supply of powerful spells. True, I cast the spells mentally because my wife and daughters were nearby. I was already about to dismiss everyone, leaving only 20 dragons, when suddenly, after another click on the portal, the final mission cutscene started.
If everything is done correctly, but you are not allowed into the portal, you need to click on it from the west side until you are allowed in. When hovering the cursor over the portal, the horse didn't rear up. There were no problems in version 1.5.
Cursed Earth affects phantoms. One of the mages just kept summoning them throughout the battle. This is equivalent to skipping a turn.
Except the ones we've made
I can only advise you to focus on dark magic, use someone else's army instead of your own.
Except the ones we've made
How do you curse mage cities? I've captured them all. I have artifacts. Staff & cloak. Cyrus is gone. There are many dragons.
Do you want to curse N---sk for 10,000 gold? :smile34: You click "OK," and you start
building a necropolis city from scratch:smile13:
and the last one, in the upper right corner, cannot be cursed;
there's a portal nearby where the mage flees. You gather 20 dragons and dive
in there... that's it, game over:smile12: :smile12: :smile12:

Of course, it's unlikely that anyone still visits this thread, but I'll write anyway. Please describe a detailed walkthrough of this mission; I keep getting killed by the elf (apparently, elves can't sit still and always want to kill someone). I capture two castles, curse them, but I don't have enough troops to fight the elf. I'm running out of strength. Please help in any way you can.
"human" troops to the undead, and from the necropolis city, my
Markel got on a boat and sailed up:

along the way, I captured a mine and a lighthouse on the islands and captured city
number 1. Immediately after that, the elf attacks, so I personally
created (bought) another hero, and Isabel "ran" to the captured city;
there's a "shelter" nearby; she gave all the troops to Markel
and hid in the shelter:smile15:...and Markel rushed down to his cities. I couldn't fight with two main heroes; I didn't have enough strength. Sometimes (I've played it 3 times now), the green one kills the mercenary, then Markel kills the elf. Last time, the mercenary
had enough strength to defeat the elf, but two mages sailed down twice,
but Markel still beat them. Yes, near the shipyard under the necropolis city, there's a Silvan tree, which increases the hero's level.
and mages come from the portal from the city in the upper right corner (it's not visible in my screenshot), so Markel needs to be active and not sleep.
Capture all the pyramids and mage treasuries; they give you spells!
Good luck...:smile44:
