I've seen a question asked on the forum, in one form or another, which I'm going to ask now, but I haven't seen an answer yet.
Tell me, how can I play on a local area network?
For example, in version 4, you enter the IP address and connect to the server computer, but in version 5, I didn't see anything like that. Where can I enter the IP address, and is it even possible to play over a LAN? Is everything so UNTHOUGHTFUL!

Apparently, you can only play through Hamachi, for 10 euros.

Hamachi and free versions are available.

the only problem is that Hamachi requires the internet,
and traffic within the local network is free (or almost free, depending on the provider).

You can definitely play over LAN; there's a "local network" button.

But most likely, you'll only be able to play within your own subnet, i.e., with those whose first three numbers of the IP address are the same (or using some other tricks, like direct bridges between computers)... I'll try to check it out in the next few days.
