In what way exactly?

A big one :) (I only recently started playing the tabletop version). :)

Interesting topic, although I haven't been involved in sports for a long time... I practiced karate for 6 years. I took second place in kumite at some competitions in Moscow, but it wasn't a major achievement.

I do sports!!!!!...
I play volleyball (as a hobby) - for quite a while, about 9-10 years... I used to play for my school, now for college... although I haven't achieved much...
About 3 years ago, I also started doing weightlifting; (similarly, I'm far from competitions - and I don't do it for them)
I really love skiing...;)... luckily, I have the opportunity to go skiing...;)...
I also love swimming - even though I don't go to swimming pools... I swim quite fast...;)... =)
That's it, a little bit about my sports preferences;

I've been doing kickboxing for 4 years, and before that, I practiced sambo-judo for 2-3 years. I don't like checkers, though. But in general, any sport is good in its own way, and you should definitely engage in some kind of physical activity.

I'm writing this with a bit of sadness...
Today, I tried my hand at billiards again :), - this was my third tournament (I took 2nd place in the first, and 4th in the second). I got to the semi-finals without any problems, and then I "ran into" the previous "1st place" winner - I barely won... :) - so I made it to the finals. In the final, I played against an Asian player (he's just a magnificent player!) in Moscow pyramid. During the game, I was losing 5:1, then I pulled myself together and evened things out a bit to 6:5, a little later my opponent started to get nervous and the score became 7:7 (and the game is played to 8 balls). The game lasted about 30 minutes, the tension kept increasing... And the result turned out to be very sad for me - my opponent sinks the black ball (and that's in "Moscow pyramid"!!) and I lost... :( So, - again 2nd place. But I will keep learning and I will definitely achieve my goal! :)
P.S. The prize fund, although not very big..., is still quite good even for 2nd place ;)

And now I'm writing with pride!
We held another tournament in Russian billiards. In the first draw, I ended up playing against the owner of the establishment where the tournament was held. I thought I would only get further with God's help :), but either God was really rooting for me, or luck was on my side – in any case, I won, and how! Four people made it to the semi-finals, but one of them was my previous "nemesis" – that same Asian guy who literally snatched 1st place from me in the last tournament. Now I thought I'd get him and revenge would be terrible :D! However, the draw is a sacred thing, and it seems that those at the top decided to do things their own way... In the end, 1st place was mine :). I finally achieved my goal, I finally won!

That's how it is, friends – always strive for something, and you will definitely achieve it!

P.S. Maybe there are real athletes among us that we don't know about?

I want to brag a little:D! I play volleyball for my city's team. I'm doing pretty well;)! I'm a two-time regional champion (with the team:) ) and a one-time Ukrainian champion!!!

It seems that on December 9, 2006, a symbolic and undoubtedly fascinating match took place on Red Square in Moscow, featuring legends of the NHL (assembled into a world team) and no less legendary stars of the Soviet dream team. The confrontation on the ice took place in an amazing, almost family-like atmosphere, although the rivals fought until the very end, delighting spectators and fans with an abundance of goals, and despite their already "advanced" age for athletes, they put on a great show, as evidenced by the final score of 10:10 – friendship won, as always :smile49:. I would also like to note that, to my surprise, I received the greatest pleasure from the game itself, from watching the great players, about whom I had only read or seen in chronicles :smile20:. So, now to the main point: During the break of the match, in memory of the deceased hockey players, Alyona and Diana Larionov, performed Schubert's Ave Maria as a duet... Does anyone among the fans or simply enthusiasts have a recording of this performance? I would be very grateful if someone could share it or at least leave a link – thank you in advance! :smile02:
