Hello! I'm looking for a program that can extract hero portraits from the game. Could you please tell me where to find it, if you know? I usually use Dragon Unpacker, but it doesn't work with any Might and Magic game except for the 9th one.

I suggest you try pressing the "Print Screen" button (next to the scroll bar), go to Paint, and press Ctrl+v.

It would be cool to be able to extract all the hero images and choose the one you like. Otherwise, you have to frantically hit the print screen button at the moment when, for example, a hero is being attacked, and even then, there's no guarantee that you'll capture the right frame. Or, you have to deliberately run into monster attacks to screenshot a funny expression, but there's no guarantee that the right hero will have that expression. It would be much easier to extract all of this.

I just like digging through the game's resources, extracting beautiful pictures, portraits of heroes, monsters, etc. It's just a hobby:o. So far, I've managed to extract only 229 avatars, several sounds, and unit voiceovers from five games (now, when Windows throws an error, it plays a phrase from Warlords Battlecry III: "Did no one expect the Aetherian Inquisitor?":)), and some other interesting things. And how many more undiscovered resources are there? In short, paraphrasing the great leader, "dig, dig, and dig again!"

Try using the Restorator program; it expertly extracts all resources from programs.
