What do you think about this writer? I liked her early books (the Echo cycle, Nests of Chimeras) – a very original take on fantasy, but lately she's been leaning towards philosophy, and that's not quite the same...

I really appreciate the author's work. I read everything with GREAT pleasure...

If there are any e-books available, I would be very happy to read them... as I have never heard of him before. I'm such a country bumpkin!

I like her philosophy much more than the "Max the Destroyer" series... He gets tiresome after the 3rd or 4th book; it's just the same thing over and over, and the ending is predictable from the fifth page, and the writing style doesn't change at all... But these are very good, pleasant books to read and relax with.

I liked the pieces, especially "My Ragnarok" and probably the first 5 stories about Sir Max :) Paradoxically, this is the most original fairy tale I've read since ABS's "Monday" (F-A-N-T-A-S-Y!!! WITHOUT ORCS!!! WITHOUT DWARVES!!! Without scary Slayde!!! Without clichés :))
P.S. Still, in my (and not only mine) opinion, Fry is no longer the same person writing... the style has changed...
P.P.S. Besides, she couldn't have churned out "My Ragnarok" — she wouldn't have had the stamina :)

For those who enjoyed the Max Frye books, I recommend reading the Encyclopedia of Myths – the first part is a bit confusing, but the second part is great... and it draws parallels with Echo. Some books may not actually be written by her, but by her co-author, Igor Stepin... for example, "A Book for People Like Me" – it's just a collection of articles...

I've read the entire series, I love it!!! I sometimes reread my favorites... I really connect with the main character's (Max's) communication style.
"Ragnarok" is simply a masterpiece, my whole family loves it.
Out of the last 5 books in the "Echo" series (the green ones :D), I didn't like all of them, but I'd give 4+ out of 5. That's it...

Yeah... "The Raven on the Bridge" – THAT'S the one:)
But "The Woe of Lord Gro" is already a letdown. There are too many inconsistencies, things that were mentioned differently in the original series...
