Greetings to all fans of Heroes Of Might & Magic IV!

And now for some good news: the 2008 World Championship in Heroes IV Online! is starting!

The goal of the tournament:to strengthen interportal relations, establish international ties and restore the game's popularity, as well as gain experience in online battles!

The tournament is being held jointly with HeroesLeague (League of Heroes), the French ArchangelCastle and the Polish league The General's Guild.

Tournament regulations.

The championship will be held according to the "group stage + playoffs" scheme. The playoffs are currently under development (it may take place using a full double elimination system - you can read more about this system here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_elimination), it all depends on the number of participants.

Game duration: approximately 10 days per game.

One judge will be appointed from each resource.

The main language of communication is English. This is because the tournament is international. If you have difficulties with English, please contact the judge; he will help you communicate with your partner and set up the game.

Specifically to assist those who do not speak English well, I am posting a list of the most necessary and common phrases created by CTPAHHuK specifically for the Championship, which will help you communicate with foreign players!



You can connect in two ways: Hamachi or via GameSpy.

Game version: Equilibris 3.51.

Tournament rules

Each resource will provide 2-3 maps. Since four resources are participating, there will be a total of 8-12 maps, from which 10 maps will be selected and presented at the tournament.

Well, "a little" is putting it mildly.
But when will it actually start, even approximately?

Registration will be completed approximately at the end of the first decade of February. Then, there will be a break for the draw and map analysis. The start is scheduled for February 25th. The date is not exact and may change slightly, either earlier or later.

it's hard to say what will happen on February 25th and how many games will need to be played.

Yeah, I reviewed the maps – they could have found better ones. These are some kind of "flaws". And this is for an International Tournament? I especially didn't like the last map – "Quiet World," it's terrible.

I saw quite a few large maps there; maybe a map from the first New World tournament would work? Could I edit it for online play?

The map opens, and the magic works. But it needs to be tested, and the balance of power needs to be checked. There shouldn't even be a hint of any bug. Especially the balance of power.

I was planning to hold a tournament in March, but
Chaos magic has a new spell called "magical energy," which acts like a "mage's potion," i.e., it increases mana. I don't think I'll add new spells.

It's a combination of all three.

The turn time is set to 6 minutes, the map is Two Rams, and it had to be reloaded twice.

Showdown is the best map among those suggested, in my opinion. It should be nominated. You could also suggest Winter's Heart, but it's too big. So, I'm not even sure what else to suggest. P.S. You could also suggest Plains of Despair, but after fixing the bug with the building of a 3rd-level creature for the red player... (the map we played with Pandora for the first time in the "100-year" tournament).
