Just read the thread. A shout-out to Luchik and Alan, plus to you and the author. Those who know me know that I am a proponent of communication that is not cluttered with all sorts of irrelevant chatter, etc. Therefore, I support this useful suggestion made in the thread. I won't risk suggesting any candidates, except for myself for moderation, because I know myself as a moderator better than anyone else and am confident in my abilities in this area.

I can take on "FLOOD" and "What Fans of Heroes Love"... although I could also handle the entire social/development section))) The remaining three sub-sections aren't that big)))
... I'm also not against moderating the Heroes 3 section, because there's too much "curiosity," theme clones, off-topic posts, and other stuff there. But I'd probably be a second moderator there)))

By the way, Hacker promised to make the most active anti-spam moderator (I was secretly hoping for that :rolleyes: ).
The only problem is that I currently don't have enough free time, so I won't be able to be on the forum all the time, but I check it every day for a couple of hours, and I can dedicate more time on weekends.

I agree with my candidacy. I already warned that this is what might happen, so don't take it to heart.
I agree to become the moderator of the entertainment section (together with Arandor), because fewer people will suffer from my mistakes as a moderator in the Fun section than if I were to moderate something else. I could also moderate the general section for Heroes 5 and the Art Gallery in Heroes 5, but these sections require more responsibility, so I will need much more of your support and trust ;)

I would like to nominate myself for the third Heroes game. If possible, I'd like to do it, as Evgeny and VBN declined, and I don't mind.

Thank you for your trust. I wouldn't mind having moderator privileges in the online section for the third game, so I could remove unnecessary content in topics related to ranked online games of Heroes of Might and Magic, so as not to constantly bother the moderators to clean up or delete something. Although, thanks to Kyle, things are fine there now. BUT: I simply don't have the desire (maybe not yet) to constantly browse all the topics, clean them up, etc. If I see something like off-topic content or obscene remarks, I will, of course, clean it up, but specifically rereading all the topics is not for me; I don't want the responsibility of being told that there is a lot of garbage on this subforum and that I am to blame.
I am FOR vbn and ewgeniy, but since vbn declined, that leaves Zhenya. I think he would be a very worthy candidate. He is reasonable, fair, and restrained (which, by the way, cannot be said about me), and he is often on the forum. And if he moderates, then I don't need anything else :) I would suggest Adelaide, but it seems she is busy enough with the fifth game.

Yes, comrades, you quickly assigned all the positions, but without even asking for the administration's opinion. It's good that there are people willing to take on the responsibility of being a moderator, but not at such a rapid pace. However, there is progress; for example, the Creator appeared today, which is the main thing. Just don't engage in excessive chatter, or you'll end up with ten pages of it...
P.S. Remember what happened with similar topics in the past? It was all just arguing and negativity. Fortunately, we don't have that now, and I hope it stays that way.

Magnus, your post is incredibly valuable, but...
1. Here: /topic/at/144126/, at the very bottom, it says regarding distribution: the key word is "would like." You should understand that we don't decide who goes where :) . This issue will be decided by the administration, naturally taking into account, as much as possible, the candidates' wishes.
2. It seems that they talked about the number of candidates for each section a long time ago and apparently everything was already decided. However, even if it wasn't decided, the list of people who would like to moderate still remains a necessary support for the administration - because it cannot force people to be moderators; moreover, the website administration does not know how this person is perceived on the forum. This topic and the subsequent vote will show whom users want to see as moderators. And let's not forget that the forum is created for users.
3. Regarding arguments, I will say only one thing: I will try to prevent this and I think many will support me (please do not leave posts about support :D ).
In fact, the key word in all this text is "support".

Dear forum members, I understand that some candidates disgust you, but there is no need to talk about it out loud (i.e., leave posts). A vote will be created for this!!! In it, you can express with your vote who you don't like and who is dear to your heart.
Here we leave posts with suggestions for candidates and posts from the candidates themselves (the latter should contain only consent indicating sections or disagreement, nothing extra!).

I remind you that the deadline for accepting responses is January 23, 2007, 24:00 Moscow time.

Maybe I'm wrong, and this approach might not be suitable for this website, but on my website, I never assigned moderation duties based on how other users perceived a person. If someone had the desire and ability, as they claimed, they would start moderating the site. Of course, if they behaved appropriately. ;)

Well, I'll chime in here too. :)
First, questions from Respected Draco:
1) Yes, I agree.
2) The Heroes of Might and Magic 4 section (both the main one and the Download section – the tournament one – is populated with worthy people).
3) A revote isn't necessary; all that's needed is a decision from the administration.
And I'll add a fourth point: the Heroes 4 section is one of the most (hopefully, and I'm knocking on wood) peaceful and calm, and I think Pandora is doing a great job there, even though she's the only one. So, if she needs help there, then the answer to the first question is "yes," but if not, I don't see the point in being there just for a green nickname (I already wrote about this during the voting).

What else do I want to add...
Strangely enough, these topics cause a huge stir on the forum and immediately become top-rated. This is both good and bad. On the one hand, it's great that users are interested and care about the forum's prosperity, but on the other hand... to put it mildly, they mostly just do that, instead of playing the game (let's face it, there aren't that many players on the forum).
It turns out that everyone really wants to argue, but it rarely comes to action.
I'm not talking about this topic specifically; here's another example.
There was a Heroes 4 tournament (I still don't know if it ended or not :D). Anyway, as some may remember :D, it was initially called the "Summer" tournament. So, someone was caught cheating; a thread was created to discuss the situation; and now, count how many Heroes 4 players there are on the forum and how many people responded in that thread – that's how much they like to argue (I'm not criticizing those who play other parts of Heroes, but let's face it, with that kind of enthusiasm in a tournament, everyone would be champions).
Anyway, we talked a lot again, let's see if there will be any action. :)
