Well, besides the banishment spell (which isn't always available and isn't always powerful) and a powerful squad of high-level units with fire immunity (which not all Factions have). There is also a tactical solution - take one powerful squad of archers into battle, and the rest are single units of levels 1 or 2 (you won't mind losing them) with high initiative (for example, fairies). Place the archers in a corner or behind obstacles on the battlefield, the rest surround them in a checkerboard pattern and constantly move after the Phoenixes destroy one of them, and the archers and hero calmly destroy them. This solution is, of course, not new (it is often used against creatures that occupy 4 squares), but it works very effectively against Phoenixes with their high initiative and retaliatory attack with the entire resurrected group (after destroying the last one in the main group) (minimum losses)

If you're playing the Tribes of the East campaign as the Necropolis faction, the first half is located after destroying the Necrodrakes near the first captured castle, and the second half is near the second castle (also destroy the Necrodrakes), which you reach through a portal.
