Posts from What if we tried to create a movie script together!
Colleagues, perhaps it's a belated idea, but maybe we could try to create something like a movie script based on the game! I think that all the "Lords of..." and other "Potters" would be immediately outmatched and, at the very least, would be left in the dust. Can you imagine an army of "Heroes" gamers? Everyone who feels they have even a drop of literary talent, let's post our scripts, choose the best one, and suggest it to someone like Bekmambetov, let him dig through it. After all, there are quite a few such films appearing lately. And let Lukyanenko and his "Night Watch" cry into their handkerchiefs. How does the idea sound? Don't rush to dismiss it; we can think it over...
Hello. The idea is certainly good, but there's a catch. Creating a scenario is a long and laborious process. Sometimes, writing scenarios is more difficult than writing a book. Moreover, it's unlikely that anyone will agree to write huge amounts of text. And it would be good if you could involve directors, I got sidetracked, but if you want the idea to work, I suggest gathering a team of 10 people and writing in turns. Otherwise, it's impossible.
P.S. If needed, I can help with this project, hehe, I at least have experience in writing books:smile14: :smile19: :smile14:
Просто человек, ищущий свой путь. Когда-нибудь он отыщется и я с наслаждением скажу - "Я шел тобою все это время!".

I completely agree that writing a script is a long and complex process. But this proposal is aimed at those who would like to create something similar, and I assure you that such a task will not attract a large number of authors. But writing in turns... It would be easier, at first, to try writing small scripts for individual campaigns or even missions and post the results on the website. This will immediately weed out those whose works are either weak or too difficult for some. In general, colleague, I support your proposal. So, the first author is here.
I fully support this idea and am ready to contribute to creating the scenario. However, I would like to clarify one detail: will we create a scenario on a global scale, such as: "Once, the majestic race of dwarves..." or "Once upon a time, there was an elf named Vinrael..."?
Overall, it’s great that you came up with this! Many will probably advise you to “leave this to the professionals,” but I personally support such enthusiasm! Moreover, there are talented amateurs among us, even if they are not professionals. So, everything is achievable! Let's go! If anything, I'm with you, guys.
Hmm... There are some unofficial add-ons for Heroes of Might and Magic IV, such as ones based on The Lord of the Rings, King Arthur, and so on. However, I haven't played them much because they turned out to be quite nonsensical (especially the Lord of the Rings one), in my opinion.

As I see it, everyone can try their hand at the scenario/campaign/mission they personally like. I think that when writing a script, especially for a game like this, it will naturally be impossible to cover everything. But we can later combine the resulting fragments into a whole. So, go ahead, colleagues. If someone wants to write something epic or, on the contrary, something small, why should we prevent it? Among us, there are not only those who want to write something, but there will inevitably be critics as well. Together, by gradually weeding out the unnecessary, we will come to the final result.

Hmm... There are such unofficial add-ons for the 4th game: Lord of the Rings, about King Arthur, etc. I haven't played them much, though... because it turned out to be nonsense (especially Lord of the Rings). IMHO.
That's why I'm not suggesting engaging in imitation, but creating something of our own. After all, a film will inevitably differ from a game, if only because "a film with a sense of presence" is not yet possible. We will try to create our own work BASED ON "Heroes...", and not a strictly classified model. I think this is quite exciting. After all, the freedom of action is very broad. We can try to write an epic scenario about the struggle against demons, each race separately, or the Grey Alliance, or about the fate of a particular hero. As an example, Tolkien's "Silmarillion" or Perumov's "Ordered". So the possibilities are almost limitless. I think that if this idea has even a quarter of a chance of being realized, then a more or less intelligent and enterprising director will be able to create SUCH a film that "Lord of the Rings" will hang itself, and "Potter" will have his own broom shoved up his ass.
Added 2 hours 1 minute ago So, colleagues, I propose something like a memorandum on the idea of creating a film script based on "Heroes...". First, why? Many may ask such a question – after all, there are already scripts for all existing "Heroes...". Just follow them and shoot a film, especially since there are already videos. But I don't like being led like an ox on a rope to an already prepared ending, where the main character, of course, is a "Yusovets" (i.e., an American) heroically saving the world through self-sacrifice (and many heroes have exactly American traits, i.e., how they see themselves). It is not necessary to take the world of Ashan. Let's remember the theory of the multiverse, in which, by the way, the numbering of "Heroes..." exists. Let's call the world something else and, using the themes of "Heroes...", create a new script. Secondly, the current script for "Heroes 5" suffers from a lack of backstory. It starts with a video of Isabel's wedding, demons attack, and off we go... What does it all begin with? Vague hints about six dragons, an equally vague hint about the Seventh Dragon, the light of Elrath (what is it or who is it, by the way? It only appears once when Freya Laslo is killed, and before that, when the demons were tearing apart the Griffin Empire?), but let's not go into scholasticism. We can, when creating an epic scenario, write both the backstory and the continuation. And thirdly... Such a script can be continued and continued, just for our own pleasure. Why should we follow the well-trodden path of the "Nivalovians" (i.e., Americans)? Let's take a risk... I don't think it will turn out worse than Rowling's
Yes, 100% it will turn out worse than "Lord of the Rings" and similar works. The idea is good, but there's no need to make such grand statements. The interesting question is whether the concept will be readable. You might have a great idea, but implementing it will be problematic. We all understand here that we shouldn't expect too much from such authors. You can write a more or less interesting story, but you won't be able to achieve anything extraordinary. By the way, there's a topic called "Heroes - not just a game, but also a book," you should check it out.

I'm not trying to reach for the stars, dear colleague! The method of creating such a literary work has existed for a long time and is called a burime. If you've noticed, I'm not predicting that the script will become the new "Titanic," I'm just suggesting. This suggestion is based on solid data. Even the most casual player has at least thought about continuing the scenarios of "Heroes..." (I know this from my own experience and that of my friends), and the point is to share these continuations on the internet and choose the best option. I'm not promising to bring down the stars, I just want to try to collectively present a new, and possibly even better, version of the scenario. After all, even ordinary people can achieve great things. Nowadays, many well-known authors write with the support of their online friends. Look at the acknowledgments of Lukyanenko, Perumov, Golovachev, etc. So, I'm not planning anything supernatural
Colleagues, perhaps it's a belated idea, but maybe we could really try to create something like a movie script based on the game! I think that all the "Lords..." and other "Potters" would be immediately outmatched and, at the very least, would be devastated. Can you imagine an army of "Heroes" gamers? Everyone who feels they have a drop of literary talent should post their scripts, we'll choose the best one and pass it on to someone like Bekmambetov, let him dig through it. Do you even understand what you wrote? No one will write a script. It would be more logical to write a BOOK based on the universe of Might and Magic. And if we create a GOOD book, then someone will pay attention to it and adapt it into a movie, especially since the films you mentioned were based on BOOKS. So, I think we should rename the topic and start writing a BOOK.
I think we shouldn't start by writing something global like "The Lord of the Rings," but rather small stories. And if people like them, we'll tackle something more global.
Added 10 minutes ago Zeratul, where did you see Americans? Nival is Russian, and Ubisoft is French... what do Americans have to do with it?
Added 7 minutes ago And where did you create the topic? It belongs in "new ideas," not here
Zeratul well... in principle, anyone can come up with a scenario)) for any part) you can even gather in groups))
I'm creating a campaign with the participation of people from this forum) based on their relationships (not counting some of the clan members), factions, etc.)) I'm making the campaign in Heroes 4))) I've come up with the plot, and I'm making the maps)) already))
P.S. everyone can come up with their own) if they have imagination, desire, and time, of course))))
Zeratul We could use someone as resourceful as you in our team. It's good that you're so open to it.
Since I mainly worked on game scenarios, it would be challenging to delve into filmmaking. But I have an idea: why not base it on an amateur game (a text-based game) inspired by Heroes of Might and Magic? Perhaps something like Magnus's... Although, I don't know how it is with him, but if needed, I'm immediately on board.
