Posts from What is the difference between the “Tribes of the East” and the “Hammers of Fate” expansions?
Hello, today I saw two discs in the store, one is called Heroes of Might & Magic V: Tribes of the East, and the other is Heroes of Might and Magic 5: Lords of the Horde, priced at 200 and 300 rubles respectively. I searched the internet, but I still don't understand the difference between them. I've played the regular Heroes of Might & Magic V and Heroes of Might & Magic V: Hammers of Fate, so that's clear. Which disc should I buy to continue the game? And what's on the other one?
Perhaps one is a DVD, the other a CD.
Perhaps it's a strange store.
Perhaps one is a Russian version, the other isn't.
Perhaps the impossible is possible.
It's the same thing. Get the licensed version. I personally bought it for 340 rubles. I don't know how the prices are where you are. Here's what they should look like.
if you know English, go for Tribes of the East, although if you've already played Heroes, you don't really need to know the language. As always, the Russian localization isn't very good.
200 rubles is a price more typical for pirated copies (at least in our city, they cost about that much), while 300 rubles is quite a low price (again, by our city's standards) for a licensed copy, especially if it says "Tribes of the East" on it – it's quite possible that it's a Russian licensed version (and in a Jewel case). An English licensed version cannot possibly cost less than a Russian one, so the first option is almost certainly a pirated copy.
I recently made a mistake myself – I ended up buying a pirated copy, even though I thought I was buying it from a legitimate store. I think a legitimate copy should cost at least 380 rubles.
Heroes of Might & Magic V: Tribes of the East Don't buy this version; it's 100% pirated. I made the same mistake. I saw it, my eyes lit up, and I bought it right away. I was stingy and bought it; I should have waited! So, go for the second option.
The Tribes of the East expansion is almost entirely in Russian, but with a terrible translation. I don't know about the Lords... P.S. I got it on a disc myself...
Buy from a reputable store that you can trust, where you can be 100% sure that they only sell licensed copies.
P.S. If that's not possible, go with the second option.
The price for Tribes of the East should not be less than 350! But even that doesn't guarantee it's a licensed copy. I recommend buying it from large stores like M-Video, Eldorado (don't criticize Eldorado – I bought a licensed version of The Witcher there on three DVDs for 200 rubles during a promotion), Bely Veter, Beringov Proliv, etc. And even better, if you have a good internet connection, download it through Steam. There, the English versions are always licensed.

In our city, a pirated copy costs 150 rubles. A licensed copy of "Tribes of the East" costs a maximum of 300 rubles. Gold immediately after its appearance cost 430 rubles, now it costs 390 rubles.
Guys, the topic was created 2 months ago... And userl hasn't been active on the forum since creating the topic. Don't you think there's nothing more to discuss in this topic and it should be closed?
O God of Earth and Altar, Bow down and hear our cry, Our earthly rulers falter, Our people drift and die, The walls of gold entomb us, The swords of scorn divide, Take not thy thunder from us, Take away our pride.
