- So that's what it was… A Mind Witch, huh…? Now I understand why I don’t remember much about our meeting…
- Thank you, teacher,” he takes the book.
- Bones? What “bones” are you talking about???

Sage Augur turned away. “I cannot tell you. This is the secret of the headmaster. Be careful, Aristarchus. The Sortorian witches are more dangerous than many creatures from the chthonic forest.” Visibly saddened, the teacher says goodbye to his inadequate student and hurries off somewhere.

"Hmm..."

Aristarch quickly hurries home...

Unfortunately, in the main hall of the sages' house, Aristarchus comes face to face with another witch... a wrestling one...

– Are we waiting for this one? – Ferda asked displeasedly. – What do we need a weakling scholar for?

Waiting for Aristarchus costs Zaya 1 action point.

Now they’ll catch poor Aristarkh and make him do… well, you know.

Unfortunately, in the main hall of the sages' house, Aristarchus comes face to face with another witch... a wrestling one...

– Are we waiting for this one? – Ferda asked displeased. – What do we need a weakling scholar for?

Waiting for Aristarchus costs Zaya 1 action point.

"What a surprise..." – flashed through Aristarchus's mind.

- Oh! Zaya! Glad to see you. What brings you here?

By the way, if Aristarch decided to read the book right there, it would cost him 2 gold… Zai has only two left, and she wouldn’t be able to afford three.

– If I were Vardan, I would have three wives… But that’s beside the point. Let’s move on.
The group continues its journey towards the Ratmen.

"What people..." - thoughts flickered through Aristarch's mind.

- Oh! Zaya! Glad to see you. What brings you here?

- ARI! 🥰
Zaya rushes to Aristarch. Grabs him and hugs him tightly, so that his face ends up near her chest.

- I'm back! But still weak 😔 Training gives little experience, so I'll travel with you and level up that way. Father said he'd allow me to marry you if I become stronger. And these are my friends: Ferda, Kulakosmaz, and Mechechel. They'll come with us if they want to.

“Is this what we’re waiting for?” Ferda asked discontentedly. “What do we need this weakling intellectual for?”

- Hey! 😠 He's my man, and he isn't a weakling; he's just smart!

Having paid **1 action point** for passage, Khryash and some insignificant individuals finally reach the lair of the ratlings. There they are greeted by a gentle but intimidating ice maiden.

– The best warrior among living people. A wandering Vardun. A bored nymph. Some kind of Khryash,” said the stranger, sitting on a stone with her legs crossed. – An attack on the nest was expected. By another group. But fate will remain unchanged. There will be a battle.

The Ice Maiden gracefully descends to the ground. Frosty fog envelops the clearing. From countless underground burrows, hordes of snow ratlings rush towards Khryash's squad.

– Schemes of the chthonic forest... this won’t intimidate me! To arms!” exclaimed Sir Gortreng.

Is this my indestructible ice flesh, or some new thing?

The locations are relatively close to each other, so maybe that one too.

Ferda turned red.

"You deceived me! We were supposed to explore the mountain range, not follow your man!"

The swordsman looked at the warrior. The warrior looked at the swordsman. Both had the same question frozen on their lips: "and why did I go with them..."

- What do you mean, she deceived us? We're going to explore the ridge. Ari explores, we kill monsters – that’s how it works.
