Posts from What is more important: luck or fighting spirit?Auto-translated
Ha ha, that's funny=)) I thought the Spirit of Despair was useless for everyone except Necromancers=)) And it turns out it's super effective - Dragons -1 to enemy morale + Spirit of Despair, and the enemy is screwed=))
For those who don't understand, if you or your opponent have the Spirit of Despair, then no dragons/devils, luck/morale, or other artifacts will work. The Spirit of Despair/Luck of the monsters (in battle, right-click on the monsters) will be = 0.
P.S. I don't know about the spells, I'll check in the evening.

The Amulet of Despair is absolutely essential for Necropolis... found it – consider the game won :D The Hourglass of the Damned is, in my opinion, the most useless artifact.
For those who don't understand: if you or your opponent have the Spirit of Despair, no dragons/devils, luck/morale, or other artifacts will work. The spirit/luck of the monsters (right-click on the monsters in battle) will be = 0.
The Spirit of Despair only removes the positive effects of morale. The negative effect remains. You were already explained this above. Just in case, this is for those who don't understand... ;)
I wouldn't have such a choice because, as a rule, I already have both Leadership and Luck by that point.
And if we talk about the essence of the matter, I choose by trial and error because I consider both skills to be equally valuable and useful – it's always nice to get an extra turn or deal double damage. And I also believe that it's more reliable to rely on skills than on artifacts – what if you urgently need a slot? Maybe I'm wrong in thinking that both skills are equally valuable, but don't worry, when playing as Conflux or Necropolis, I won't take Leadership.
2 AmberSoler Did you check? I checked and even wrote how long it took.
Yeah... :) Even with the Spirit of Despair, a morale bonus still occurs... This means that the negative effect is NOT neutralized. What else is there to check? And you don't need to hover the cursor over the monsters; just wait for the first morale bonus in battle – check it again on five units from different castles. You'll be convinced very quickly...

But, to get to the point, I'm using a non-scientific trial-and-error method because I consider both skills equally valuable and equally useful – it's always nice to get an extra turn or deal double damage.
However, it's worth noting that a double turn when morale occurs allows a unit to deal full damage, while the "double damage" from luck actually only doubles a small part of the damage (the base damage).
That is, if a unit's base damage is, say, 10 HP (shown in the unit's stats), and the actual damage is, for example, 50 HP, then when morale occurs, the unit will deal another 50, resulting in a total of 100 HP in one round of battle. But when luck occurs, the damage will only increase by the base amount and will be only 50 + 10 = 60 HP. A significant difference in favor of morale when comparing... :)
It's worth noting that a double turn when morale is triggered allows a unit to deal full damage, while "double damage" from luck actually only doubles a small portion of the damage (the base damage).
In other words, if a unit's base damage is, say, 10 HP (as shown in the unit's stats), and the actual damage is, for example, 50 HP, then when morale is triggered, the unit will deal another 50, resulting in a total of 100 HP in one round of combat. But when luck is triggered, the damage will only increase by the base amount, resulting in a total of 50 + 10 = 60 HP. This is a significant difference in favor of morale when comparing the two... :)
However, there are situations where luck can be very, very useful, perhaps even better than morale, in my opinion. At the very least, it's never a bad thing to have. So... it depends on how you look at it. ;)
P.S. Maybe I've just played Heroes of Might and Magic V too much, but luck is really a good thing. :)
Without a doubt, high morale is better. Remember how annoying it is when you're trying to defeat a weak enemy with a small army, hoping for reinforcements, and suddenly the low morale of your griffons ruins all your plans, and you're just trying to figure out how to escape this situation!
well, everyone except Necropolis and Elementalist factions gets morale), and for this pair, Good Luck;). Morale is better; that second turn isn't always for an attack, but for various actions, of which there are many, besides the two mentioned above. I usually increase morale (though sometimes I don't take it for a castle – what's the point when you already have a +3 bonus?).

Without a doubt, morale is better. Remember how annoying it is when you defeat a small army, hoping for angels, and suddenly the morale of the griffins ruins all your plans, and you think about how to even get out of this mess!
Exactly! It's so annoying in the Dungeon when the griffins' morale is good =), and for you, it's always bad luck; it never works. I've seen a -2 luck in the first and second Heroes games, but has anyone ever seen Misfortune in practice?
I've experienced negative luck in practice, and it happened repeatedly in all parts of the game. It's just as annoying as anti-leadership (when it affects you). Although... with anti-luck, you can at least deal some damage, but with anti-leadership, you just waste your turn without any effect.
In Heroes of Might and Magic III, there are no negative luck effects, even though there's some mention that damage is halved (or something like that). They deal full damage. AmberSoler
That is, if the base damage of a unit is, let's say... There's a significant difference in favor of morale when comparing...
It's a small addition, or not an addition at all. For example, at the beginning of the game, if archers get morale, their ammunition runs out (there's no supply yet). However, with luck, you get double damage (or at least some additional damage). So, with luck, some shots are stronger. It's perfect for taking out zombies. ;)
2 AmberSoler you are right, I retested and realized what the mistake was in the previous test. I'm so dumb, I was looking at the morale of the ghost dragon :smile52:
If there is no additional luck, then there is no point in using the unlucky spell if the luck is 0. So, Sadness >> Unluck :)

Luck is better than Might, especially when you get an ultra-powerful Gorgon, who can decimate (for example, Behemoths, especially if there are many of them) without taking any damage in return. For undead creatures, luck is definitely the better choice.
