Posts from Artifacts in WOG: discussion, questions, and answers.
Thanks, I'll experiment with the wand. Does it change the artifact within its level range?
As for the monster's power, it's exactly as I thought – it just results in some silly artifact, and getting it isn't usually that easy...
thanks, I'll experiment with the wand, it changes an artifact within its level, right? as for the monster's strength, it's just as I thought, you end up with some stupid artifact, and getting it is usually not that easy...
Well, about the monster's strength — I wouldn't say that! For some creatures of 7th level (or 8th!!!), a free prayer for the whole week is veeeeery cool!!! IMHO. And as for the wand — you know, it seems like it's not even within the level... I don't remember exactly — I haven't been playing WoG that often lately — but in my opinion, artifacts change ABSOLUTELY randomly... And sometimes they fundamentally change the situation ;) Both for the better and for the worse.

Regarding the wand – it's true, you can exchange it for various items in exchange for good artifacts. I tested it out of curiosity, and the Badge of Valor turned into a Tome of Water, which, although I don't particularly like, is still interesting... Maybe you could suggest something to diversify the gameplay. Right now, I'm playing with a friend at 200% difficulty. In the editor, we put ourselves on the same team, and against us, there are all computer-controlled opponents (4-6). We win 80% of the maps :)
Regarding the wand – it’s true, you can exchange it for various items for good artifacts. I tested it out of curiosity, and the Sign of Valor turned into a Tome of Water. Although I don’t really like Water, it’s still interesting... Maybe you can suggest something to diversify the game. Right now, I’m playing with a friend at 200% intensity. In the editor, we put ourselves on the same team, and all the computers (4-6) are on the opposing team. We win 80% of the maps :) How do you guys play? What’s with all the skeletons? I don’t know. You can get 500, but in the first serious castle siege or battle, they die. At most, 200 skeletons appear after a battle due to Necromancy. And even 500 is a lot; usually, it’s a maximum of 300 because either the computer comes early, or I arrive early :) And the main condition for victory is the Town Portal; with it, victory is 99% guaranteed :) But for that, you usually have to build/manage a Guild in four castles :)
Skeletons – I’m not very good at this myself... but I know how it’s done... Take several Necromancers – preferably Isra and Vidomina are a must – and go around beating everyone and everything... fight against everyone, no one should run away – that’s the main condition. It’s better to attack numerous troops of low-level creatures. Be sure to build a Necromancy Amplifier as early as possible and develop Necromancy to the maximum. Then, of course, transfer all the skeletons to one hero in a chain. To make the skeletons die less, take Galtran as the main hero – skeletons are his strength! Plus, protective spells on them. Next – regarding diversifying the game, experiment with the WOG settings – they provide so much space and variety that it’s amazing! And I also advise you to play against each other instead of against the computer – it’s much more interesting, believe me! ;)

Well, we sometimes play against each other, on a random map generator, but it gets tiring to look away, or not look away, but then you see each other's moves :) Once, I played as Necropolis, and he played as Stronghold. We developed at roughly the same pace, but he built his creatures very early on, and there were no mines on the map (Gorgons, Tentacles of the Swamp, or something like that). I was slow to develop my dragons... So, in the end, he took my Castle, and I took his, but I also managed to collect all the obelisks from my territory, and then from his. And there was a Grail on his territory, which I dug up, and he surrendered. He was also unlucky; he found two City Portal scrolls at the beginning, but he only managed to upgrade the basic terrain and couldn't teleport back home to defend his Castle. And I also went first, so he didn't have time to hire a weekly supply on the first day. I wouldn't have been able to handle two weekly supplies in the Castle :(
Regarding the skeletons:
I decided to try it out. I took Vedomina, leveled her up to the third level, and made her an expert in Necromancy, catching up with everyone as expected. I just didn't build the enhancer right away; I was a little late with it. There was no talk of 3,000 skeletons; there were only 500-600, and the meeting of the main heroes was already approaching. I guess if you play for three months and don't attack each other, but just accumulate skeletons, you could gather that many. But I prefer to play aggressively, so I choose an early attack, if possible, and even on HL maps, I rarely play peacefully for more than three months. :)
Now we're playing against the AI. I only have 250 skeletons, and they all died while I was taking castles from the AI and defending my own. My starting hero is Vedomina. After leveling up Necromancy, I upgraded Earth to Expert and, after building the Guild to level 3, I failed :((( But I have Tant now, and now I'm looking for a hero with Lore, so I can teach Vedomina the Resurrection spell. For now, I'm betting on Berserk and Expert Fire. Against the AI, it's a super spell, especially when defending a Castle. Even without Fire magic, it helps a lot in winning battles.
Have you tried combining the artifact, the King of the Undead's Cloak, for a +30% bonus?
Added 1 hour and 4 minutes ago
With this artifact, you can get up to 70% if I'm not mistaken. If you're an expert in necromancy, you'll be able to resurrect liches.
since the topic is artifacts in Haven, could you provide a description on how to create special, empty artifacts and turn them into new Haven artifacts? Please do.
thank you. how do the magic wand and monster strength actually work??? and where can I download a patch for WOG from 3.5 to 3.58???
Monster strength randomly empowers one group of creatures at the beginning of the battle with the "Prayer" spell (for example, if there are 7 stacks of Archons, it applies to all 7, but if they are different, it's random). The wand transforms artifacts – it changes artifacts to those that are in the same slot (I don't remember exactly what it changes, it depends on the wand's position: for example, it's different for slots 1-5). Unfortunately, I can't say exactly what it changes in each slot; check the editor or the description. =)
Added after 13 minutes Regarding skeletons: if it's WOG, it's quite simple to build them; their growth occurs once a day, so upgrade them (look through the WOG options; there's a lot of interesting stuff there). If you have enough resources and gold, you can do this. If you're playing as a king and are short on resources, then fight neutral creatures; this is a good development strategy: first, get Liches and Vampires, and use them to easily acquire skeletons without losing much

Oh yes... It's so easy to assemble it - it takes only two seconds, it's a piece of cake.
Here's a question. A friend recently gave me a riddle about an artifact: Hunter's Armor. Does anyone know anything about it?
I've heard something about artifacts like a wooden breastplate, a unique helmet, a centaur axe, and a dwarf shield, that they supposedly form something – complete nonsense, IMHO! This is only possible with empty artifacts, but you also need to know the Erathian language well. Sorry, I can't help you with anything specific, but you can tell him about the first four lousy pieces of armor I mentioned above. I think I heard this in the town tavern (I went to the castle to hire a hero, and the tavern keeper told me this).
Barbarian Lord's Axe of Ferocity (new combination artifact)
Description: This combination artifact consists of the Ogre's Club of Havoc, Targ of the Rampaging Ogre, Tunic of the Cyclops King, and Crown of the Supreme Magi. In addition to the regular bonuses, it grants an additional strike each round to all non-shooting creatures in a hero's army.
Oh yes.. Assembling it takes two seconds, a piece of cake..
Well, if you look at it in terms of usefulness/number of artifacts/availability of artifacts, then the Cloak of the Undead King is definitely the easiest to assemble :)
and as for... regarding the new artifacts:
1. Magic Wand
Description: Transforms artifacts which hero has. Location of Wand: These artifacts are changed:
Misc 1 Head and Neck
Misc 2 Left hand and Right hand
Misc 3 Left and Right ring
Misc 4 Torso and Legs
Misc 5 Shoulders and Misc 4
1. Combination Artifacts and their parts are not transformed.
2. If a slot is empty, a new artifact will not appear there.
3. Artifacts that are forbidden from appearing on a map will not appear as a replacement artifact when a transformation occurs.
2. Gold Tower Arrow
Description: Gives control of Arrow Towers to hero.
In attack: Towers won’t shoot
In defense: No Ballistics – Shoot twice Basic Ballistics – Shoot 3 times Advanced Ballistics – Shoot 4 times Expert Ballistics – Shoot 5 times
3. Monster’s power
Description: Casts Prayer on all monsters of one kind. Every week, a new random monster is selected from the hero’s army and Prayer will be cast on ALL monsters of this type that every hero has during that week.
4. Crimson Shield of Retribution
Description: Held in the left hand, this artifact increases Defense skill by +2 and gives all creatures in a hero's ranks the ability to retaliate against creatures that cannot normally be retaliated against.
5. Dragonheart
Description: This ancient relic summons up to [100 HP x Hero Level] dragons for the duration of a battle (minimum one dragon). Dragon type is random but may be influenced by terrain. In addition, dragons in a hero's army always have positive morale.
There's 10% chance that the dragon type will be completely random and 90% chance that the dragon type will be determined based on terrain from the tables listed below: Grass, Holy Ground: 70% Green, 20% Gold, 10% Diamond
Dirt, Evil Fog and Cursed Ground: 45% Bone, 25% Ghost, 20% Blood, 10% Dracolich
Description: Upon entering a town you own, the Gate Key gives you the option to lock it for 5 days. Heroes can leave locked towns but no hero can enter except by Town Portal or Castle Gate, and the town cannot be attacked. The Gate Key will vanish when used and returns to the hero 10 days later. A town cannot be relocked by any Gate Key for 5 days after it becomes unlocked. If a player is vanquished, their locked towns will be unlocked for all players the following day.

This is the only collection added to the game that I found. Apparently, the story about the hunter's armor is just a myth.
Nope, you're wrong. There are 2 more collections, but the problem is that they can't be combined into one art piece, and they don't have their own image. These art pieces are: Torbin's Mirror (3 bonuses, +30% on top of that) and its analogue for magic resistance. I have a good book, and I wanted to upload it as a zip archive, but something isn't working. If anyone is interested, write to me in a private message, and we can figure out how to send it via ICQ or email: Dolbos@mail.ru =)) I won't give my ICQ because it's disabled, but if anyone needs the book, write to me, and we'll figure out how to send it. I'll also try to pack it properly later....
