- Don't worry, the Goddess just decided to smile on me today, not on you!
-- A glorious victory. Someone else might have had trouble with such a sorceress, but not in this case, -- commented Erephir. -- Alright, now it's definitely time to place bets.
When the betting starts, Erephir goes to the organizer and confidently places a bet on Gion.
- I'm betting on you, Guiosh.
- Oh, come on 😅 I have a tough opponent.
- I don't care.
- 😅
- Do you want me to save my bet on you for the final match?
- I definitely won't make it, you know 😅
- 😤
Beata sticks her tongue out at Guiosh and places a bet on him.
- And this is just a small part of what the clerics are capable of... However, you have something very important that she will never have in her life, Kleona-san. So let her enjoy it at least once.
- Matthias-kun, - she turns to him again. - I just reviewed the list... - she sighs. - If I want to play to win, there will be moments when I have to bet against my own teammates for some unknown reason, and I really wouldn't want that. But if I stubbornly bet on them, I might just become a victim of gambling, and that wouldn't be quite right, would it? And if I don't bet at all, then it's just like missing out on all the fun. What do you think about this dilemma? How would you act in my place, choosing from these three options? But that's just a side note. My main question is, can I place a bet while I still have tickets, or do I have to spend them beforehand?
Somewhere in parallel, sequential, or perhaps perpendicular time...Author
Also, by the generosity of the Empress, prizes will be raffled off for the winners of each match (determined randomly):
"Mmmmm, what a powerful additional factor and motivation. I wonder, could I turn this even more to my advantage? Hmmmm.... Oh, right, I can try!"
>Carneol's Forge
No, spending that last 1 AP was definitely a good idea. First of all, her usual cloak frankly looked a bit dull, hardly fitting for a grandmaster. Secondly... The redhead remembered her ordeals in the Dark Lands all too well. The moment she was left alone, she faced a multitude of problems: wild magic, poison and danger everywhere. One could never be sure about the water, or even the air around, and Stantri's protective items no longer saved her.
And now, on the eve of Nephria, there was a suspicion that in the lands of the mighty Monogat, something similar might await them. It's not always something as simple as "poisons" or just "negative effects" — often it's something entirely unpredictable and tricky that needs to be filtered out (if one could call it that, but in essence it's more complex). And where a charcoal filter proves useless, a special rune would not be. And the current tournament might, oddly enough, help test it out... D
Using the known Erefir technology, as usual, calling upon the Patrons, she crafts a beautiful red cloak, with a small Carneol insignia engraved on it (for style) and the needed rune: Law (order, justice). Fate (inevitability, hope). And the last symbol — weakening, cooling, death.
This rune sets a law so that even the inevitable worst outcome weakens and becomes impossible.
Having spent a considerable amount of time attuning to this solid (albeit not as hard as metal) material of the cloak, and making the runic pattern as precise as possible, pouring into it a piece of her soul, some smithing magic, and wishing very, very strongly for the desired effect (for the power of desire mattered), Erefir crafts (?):
Atmosphere (heavy cloak)
Presumed effects: +5% defense Rune of negation of negation. Food or liquids consumed by the character, or air inhaled, cannot impose negative effects (of a magical/physical nature, but not curses? Not sure about various zombifications either.) Erefir only?
- And this is just a small part of what the church officials are capable of... However, you have something very important that she will never have in her life, Kleona-san. So let her enjoy it at least once.
- Hmm? What is it... (At least she didn't banish me, you wretch). Author
- Matthias-kun, - she returns to him again. - I missed something in the list... - she sighs. - If I want to play to win, then at certain moments I will have to bet against my own comrades for some unknown people, and I really wouldn't want that. But if I stubbornly bet on them, then I might just become a victim of gambling, and that's not quite right, is it? And if I don't bet at all, then it turns out that I'm just missing out on all the fun. What do you think about this dilemma? How would you act in my place, choosing one of these three options? But this is just a lyrical digression. My main question is, can I place a bet while I still have tickets, or do I have to spend them beforehand?
- It depends on what goals you have. If you want to make some extra money, then don't hesitate and bet against your friends, but if you just want to have fun and money is not a problem, then it's better to bet on your friends - at least your conscience will be clear. At least that's how I see it.
Added 6 minutes later Remembering that he forgot to answer the second question, Matthias adds, - first you need to spend the ticket, and then place bets with rems.
- Worth every penny, - 😉👍.
- Actually, there's a problem... - he sighed. - The game stubbornly wouldn't let me into the Gameplay section today, no matter how hard I tried... Okay, here, take this ticket for a small amount, - he hands over the ticket.

- Beauty for a hundred, - 😉👍.
- True enough... The Coven isn't enough for this trash.Author
- Actually, that's a problem... - another sigh. - The universe stubbornly refused to let me into GP today, no matter when I tried to rush in... Fine, toss it on the little one, - hands over the ticket.
- Miko-sama... Which one of them is the little one?

"The negation of negation, that's what it was called... Twice. But maybe I forgot because, haha, forgetting about the downsides of this rune was quite absurd, but overall... The experiment was a success! I won't wear it to the tournament, of course, unfortunately, but still, I need to try and improve the skill, remember..."
She leaves Penelope's dress in the safe, and the book about queens, and takes this cloak. She returns to the tournament. She bets on Gion (1 time).
- Gion-dono certainly gives the impression of being a straightforward and easygoing person... metaphorically speaking... but I wouldn't exactly call him a small fellow, - Ayano smiled. - So, I was talking about Ahuri-san.
Added 9 minutes ago Match 2 Ahuri moves himself up in the initiative order to the very top and attacks his opponent. Gion receives (1012-24%)-35%)= 499 damage (955/1454)

- Ha-ha... Well, it's always good to clarify, it helps avoid awkward situations.
