In the first half of the dream, I wandered aimlessly through my neighborhood, sat on benches, and inhaled the scent of summer foliage. In the second half, there were intense urban battles with mech warriors, each several stories high, with amazing graphics and music. Every time I defeated a robot in my lightweight mech, after a while, a heavier and more terrifying class of robot would invade the city, with different weapons, and I had to find new ways to destroy them.
And in the breaks between these battles, I ran around on foot, as a butterfly warrior, with a katana and a pistol, and with a rifle on swap, through offices, supermarkets, and other urban jungles, searching for the mastermind, because I was the pilot, and these guys were all controlled remotely. In the end, I found him - he looked like a regular working guy, wearing a cap, just like Kenny from the "Walking Dead" series, and it turned out that he had also been brainwashed. In the end, he came to his senses, was a little shocked by what was happening, begged for mercy, and I had to let him live. But after that, I received a communiqué from the real mastermind, who, in the best traditions, congratulated me, and then immediately gloated, promising a second episode and spoiling the new phase of the plan, in which he would send even more robots to destroy me and the city - he lined up these mechs in a row from smallest to largest and flew around them with a camera, presumably so that I could prepare in advance and know what to expect. And then I woke up in Russia.
-- Well, what did you expect? We're not winning the war.
-- What unit are we in?
-- Belgorod...
-- Forget this, I'm out of here.
I actually left: I walked out through the gate without a checkpoint and headed north on my own, while Ment seemed to stay. I had to run around some industrial area and recruit civilians to join me, but I don't remember much else.
Lately, all I dream about is war. In about a third of my dreams, there's artillery shelling, and in the rest, it's all paperwork, moving, arguments with contractors, and other nonsense. Now, it's both, and with Ment too.
