“I’m feeling alright, but my mood isn’t great. Gideon looked gloomily at Duncan. “Many people went into town today, and I thought it would be a good time to explore the Academy grounds more thoroughly without running into any distractions. Basically, I was just wandering around, looking at interesting places. I visited the construction site, but they started scaring me with falling bricks, so I left. Then I stopped by the cafeteria, and I was just about to have lunch when I heard that the students were being gathered in the hall of ceremonies. That’s all.”

After Duncan listened to Gideon's reply, a gunshot rang out, and the old general ordered the student to stay put while he went to investigate the source of the noise.

Karvia listened attentively to the student's story, but her unstarted reply was interrupted by the sound of a gunshot coming from the male dormitory (everyone heard it).

- Sigh, - Vail sighed disappointedly, realizing that he wouldn't get any comforting hugs or other pleasantries.

Varya asks Yukka to stay in the room and goes out into the corridor.

It was Moriner with an axe, going from room to room, and our guys were trying to shoot him down.

Karvia listened attentively to the student's story, but her unstarted response was interrupted by the sound of a gunshot coming from the male dormitory building (everyone hears it).

- Huh? - the guy blurted out involuntarily. - That's us... Come on, let's go! Is there a GIF of her running?
Running to the dormitory. If Toad is waiting for me at the door, we'll go together.

In the corridor, Varya encounters Renn, who is heading somewhere with a determined expression on her face.

Joins.

Vaylis, Toad, Varya, and Renn head to the men's dormitory and encounter Miho and Iori there. The second and third floors were quiet, which meant the gunshot came from the fourth floor – where Vaylis and Toad's room was located.

Returning to the room and finding Ixora already back to studying, Layla decided to keep her promise and joined her. She didn't want to bother the ingredient-maker with complicated conversations, and reviewing the history material would allow them to channel their thoughts into a more productive direction. Even though the girl wasn't sure if her father would change his position regarding studying at NAILS after today's events, even the attempt to dedicate herself to a productive activity was interrupted by an unexpected sound of gunfire echoing through the academy's walls.
— Shall we check it out? — the Taimanian asked, looking questioningly at her neighbor.

- Kent? - Vale glanced at Toad. - Let's go upstairs!

Ixora responded with an approving nod and silently took her sword, after which they both headed towards the sound of the gunshot.

Added after 49 seconds

- Kent? - Vale glanced at Toad. - Rather, upstairs!

The group finds itself in a corridor, but everything is as usual, except that the door to room 402 is open. It seems that all the other rooms were empty.

- Elio, are you there? - Vale called out to his neighbor, cautiously approaching his door and peering into the room.

Varya resolutely pushes Wael aside and peers in herself, taking maximum care not to get shot.

“Holy crap!” exclaimed Nira, startled, but upon hearing the maternal tone in her own voice, she covered her mouth in surprise. Whether it was the sudden gunshot that pierced the eerie silence that had enveloped the dormitory, or the unexpected continuation of today’s story, the girl felt a slight chill run from her spine to her heart for the first time. And they had even forgotten that they had given the students a ton of modern weapons! The girl’s fingers involuntarily reached for the pistol in her bag, and her gaze darted towards the window. The fourth floor, enjoy the view, they had said! But they hadn’t thought about the possibility of escaping from such a height if something happened. Getting out of bed, Nira looked for her roommate, if she was there: “Bell, let’s go see what happened?” if it’s okay, we’ll go to the others
