Girls, just like guys, are all different, and everyone needs something different. There's no point in generalizing.

I've made some minor adjustments to the ratings to align them with the overall picture (added an extra point to some).

Most likely, she was just blatantly lying. Girls definitely pay attention to appearance. Some (okay, many, I just don't consider myself to be in this category) make an exception only if this particular "monkey" has a huge amount of money. For those girls, neither appearance nor age matters.

I'm not toxic today, so I can totally vote. I just want to note that there are actually better options than mine here, and I'm unexpectedly happy about that.

 

1 — 2, I don't see anything appealing

2 — my subjective 8 out of 10.

3 — 7, I added 1 point.

4 — 6, the reason I added 1 point to the third one is that they're not on the same level, and it would be a shame to rate this one a 5 — I'm not mean.

6 — 6, didn't quite make it to a 7, but tried.

7 — 10, I added 1 point because I subjectively consider him the best candidate and because he's better than that guy I submitted (at least in this particular photo with all the filters, etc., he looks better; in real life I'd probably walk past him without noticing, unlike the guy I sent).

Forgot to mention age. For young girls, appearance is certainly more important, and they might have different views on certain things now, while older girls are concerned with other things.

No, that's not always the case either, at least I knew a clear counterexample during my student years.

I know several counterexamples based on personal experience. In my observation, appearance is rarely the main or only determining factor. Unless, as Aretz said, the people are young. This doesn't mean that appearance doesn't influence anything at all, but it usually only affects the first impression or simply the presence of traits that a person finds too unattractive (even though, without those traits, the person might be far from the ideal of beauty for their potential partner). Character and charisma play the main role, among other things, and they also affect the perception of appearance. Of course, this doesn't mean that people won't be interested in a relationship with a handsome/beautiful person; it's just that this will often be perceived as a pleasant bonus rather than a decisive factor. The same applies to financial matters – few people will complain about the wealth of a potential partner, but it is only a decisive factor for a certain (and not as numerous as one might think) segment of people. An unemployed person living off their parents' money repels not so much because of the lack of finances as such, but because of the risk of getting a partner who is not independent and will simply freeload. Financial stability also sometimes plays a role, but there are no expectations of some super cool job. In other words, most people are not too categorical in these matters, but rather are guided by their own set of criteria, although certain factors (which are common to both men and women) can reduce the chances of finding a partner.
