Shenghai is a country with an interesting history, full of intrigues and complexities, known for its love of freedom, significant scientific discoveries, and great cultural influence on neighboring countries. Form of government
Since its founding, just over a thousand years ago, Shenghai was a monarchy, initially supported by followers of the Artery, and later by its Church, but as a result of the invasion of the Northerners, the country was reorganized into a republic, in which all citizens received an equal right to vote in local and national elections. However, over time, elections became nothing more than a farce, while real power passed into the hands of Shenghai's financial and political elite, and the interests of ordinary citizens were no longer defended by anyone. The situation changed only after the leadership of one of these families passed to Zhuge Liang, a man with great influence, as well as thorough knowledge of the structure of Shenghai and methods of influencing its key figures. During an attempted coup in Northia, Liang began secretly inciting the country's citizens to large-scale protests, and at the same time, during meetings of Shenghai's elite, he promoted the adoption of harsh measures against the protesters, which only escalated the situation even further. Later, Liang organized a revolutionary movement, which he put his man in charge of, and actively supplied the members of the resistance with weapons and finances, while at the same time assassinating dangerous loyalists. In the end, the then-ruling power was overthrown, and the government of the country passed into the hands of the people... Under the close supervision of the National Security Agency, headed by Liang.
Eyes of Futsanlun
The official name of the National Security Agency of Shenghai. An independent intelligence organization of the republic, whose duties include, among other things, controlling the electoral system, protecting the constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens, and monitoring members of the government, their movements, bank accounts, etc. The Eyes of Futsanlun are feared both within Shenghai and beyond, and many experts doubt the effectiveness of an organization that is accountable to no one, believing that such a model is prone to corruption and goes against the ideals of this country.
Religion
There is no official religion in Shenghai, but most of the population either worships the Artery or adheres to some local beliefs, of which there are many in the republic.
Society and economy.
The foundations of the national consciousness of the Shenghai people can be called hard work, discipline, enterprise, mercantilism, and love of freedom, which is well reflected in the constitution of this country. Taxes in Shenghai are among the lowest in all of Vistaria, and the role of the state in the country's domestic market is, for the most part, reduced to maintaining contractual obligations, which, combined with a large number of workers and high purchasing power of the population, makes it very attractive for those who want to start their own business.
The inhabitants of this country are free to express any thoughts without fear of retribution from either the state or other citizens, and can also boast a high level of personal freedom. In Shenghai, the right to private property is highly valued, and it is generally believed that a Shenghai citizen's home is his refuge, where no one has the right to disturb him. This is usually the case, at least until his activities begin to cause problems for his neighbors... Shenghai is home to a large number of immigrants from all corners of Vistaria, who have come to this country in search of a better life. Politics and business are organized according to a meritocratic principle.
Culture
Various types of martial arts have been practiced in Shenghai since ancient times, and they remain popular to this day, if not as a weapon, then at least as a means of meditation and strengthening the spirit. Festivals in Shenghai are common, they are held to give people a break from hard work and have a good time with loved ones. Often, various rituals, interactive events, and colorful performances with loud music and intense energy are held at them. In clothing, the inhabitants of Shenghai prefer both traditional costumes for their country and modern products.
International relations
Shenghai is in a state of prolonged, simmering war with Northia due to ideological reasons. Relations with other countries are also strained due to the citizens of the republic's conviction in the absolute righteousness of their country. In their opinion, Shenghai brings freedom to other countries and frees them from the shackles of slavery.
