This time Ambrose merely sees a page with a drawing of a raven blocking out the sun. Further reading of this book may well affect his worldview...
-- Fate sends me signs of what is to come, but their essence eludes me. Here my wisdom does not suffice, and I shall have to seek counsel without. After the skirmish with the northerners, which the Knight, despite the defeat, was very pleased with -- the main thing is to have a grand time and topple as many opponents as possible oneself, rather than necessarily be the last one standing -- Ambrose will try to find the Knight of Wisdom and ask her advice.
Anella Blood, though busy studying the mirror entrusted to her by Axel, nevertheless managed to spare a few minutes of her time for the young warrior. Upon learning the details, she invited him to simulate a duel, during which she allowed herself to examine the contents of the mysterious book.
- The text itself is of absolutely no interest whatsoever. - She concluded, finishing her analysis. - These are not spell words, and certainly not curse formulas, but merely someone's verses and thoughts on given topics. It seems that one of the followers of the Raven of Dawn placed special enchantments upon it, affecting the laws of the universe at the level of this single item - that is precisely why its peculiar, seemingly absurd, requirements work in the real world. Nevertheless, I sense no threat from the book, though the contents of its pages may well have an effect on the reader's worldview.
-- Thank you for the time you have given. Truly they say your wisdom scarcely yields to your elegant beauty. The only mystery remaining to me is: what is the inner essence of those beliefs professed by the raven acolytes? Of all of them, I am acquainted only with the priestess who came to this hall from Duskwing, and if the other faiths of Tezoth are understandable and simple, like their adherents, then the temperament, ideas, and rule of life of the priests of that otherworldly entity will not yield to the logic of men who know not the Universal Octaves.
- There are none. The followers of this deity are distinguished from other people only by self-identification, while the origins of the priests remain hidden behind a veil of darkness to this very day. Who knows, perhaps they are nothing more than earthly avatars of this entity?
-- And so, this is an impenetrable abyss, a whirlpool of danger and secrets; only he who dares take the step will learn what lies hidden in the depths... -- Ambrose thoughtfully scratched his stubble, pondering whether this leaned closer to bravery or foolishness. -- And what of the priests, how great is their power usually over the flock heeding their call? Might we not find here the answer as to whether they are truly close to the otherworldly shadow, or whether it is merely a blend of customs and esoteric knowledge?
- In our kingdom there is only one priestess - the very one who brought this mysterious mirror as a gift, but no hierarchy between her and other followers has been documented thus far.
Gingkink moves. Ninahisami loses 50 HP (-49/120) and leaves the battle. Her sword tried its best to help its owner, but Rezara's sword proved stronger... Ferlutz, Avesom, Tarantos, and BigChad lose 10 points of spirit. Tarantos moves. Whitecalm shoots at Rezara. Rezara takes 70-22=48 damage (22/170).
Ничто не возникает из ничего и ничто не пропадает бесследно. Если где-то чего-то убудет, то в другом месте добавится. (Закон сохранения).
