Posts from Bugs in the new site interfaceAuto-translated
While I was sending the previous message and everything was freezing, I looked in the browser's Process Manager and hw was eating more than a gig of memory, not counting video, screenshot, alas, I didn't take one. I don't know, maybe it's normal for a modern engine. So I'll be like a cuckold, just watching from the sidelines what's going on here.
This is clearly something abnormal, we need to look into it. I installed the same theme, also measured a single tab, only 133 MB total and no CPU load.
I'll keep looking for what's eating memory.
It probably accumulates over time, maybe it's not a big deal. The CPU is indeed constantly jumping there though. Well, Minimalism is a bit lighter, I guess, I'll keep an eye on it for now.
I managed to reproduce the problem — spent about 5 minutes sequentially opening different sections of the site and got up to 1 GB. It's a FireFox issue. They say it's some problem with ghost windows that FireFox just can't seem to fix. It doesn't clear pages and just accumulates them; the profiler showed that after my experiments there were more than 50 such ghost pages, with only one tab open.
I'll experiment a bit more; if I can find a workaround, we'll implement it, if not, we'll have to wait for FireFox to fix it.
Since the problem is on my side at the browser level, then of course the browser developers should fix it. I'm sure they have enough of their own stuff to deal with without solving third-party issues. In any case, thanks for making the problem clear.
I've implemented forced memory cleanup for FireFox after all — I can't get past 1 GB anymore, check how it works for you now.
I looked up the combination artifacts of Heroes 5 on the wiki and it seems like something is off. The screenshot shows the description from the wiki and from the manual. And it's like that everywhere.
Wiki loads cards from the knowledge base, and both the wiki and the knowledge base are open for edits by all registered users — if something is wrong, I suggest simply making the edits.
If there's an issue with displaying cards from the knowledge base on the wiki page — i.e., the knowledge base has one thing and the wiki shows another, I can fix that — that's a technical matter.
But the content, accuracy, and corrections are already a question for the community.
Initially, the knowledge base was built on game data and manuals, and each card indicates where the data was taken from, but due to the large volume of data, there may certainly be parsing or transfer errors somewhere, and something may not match.
Changes should automatically be reflected in the wiki where these cards are used.
Of course, I'll go through all the materials and try to double-check everything again when I have time, but I don't think this is a one-person job — the point of these two sections is precisely openness and collective contribution; I only laid the foundation.
Everything that's underlined is not from Heroes 5. It looks more like this data is pulled from a mod, like 5.5, and for the Warlock (Power of Runes), the Demon (Urgash's Will), and the Orc (Weapon of Might), it doesn't display there.

It doesn't accumulate as fast now, and it wasn't really noticeable before either, but the temperature on the video doesn't rise, stays at 51 degrees the whole time, and the CPU doesn't jump to 100%. It runs quietly. Thanks.
I also noticed that the old attachments got mixed up. Previously, the first uploaded attachment was always first, the second was second, and so on. Now the attachments in old threads are a mess.
Is there any plan to at least sort them by upload date?

Please drop a couple of links to posts with attachments that don't look the way you'd like them to.
They can be sorted by date, grouped — the main thing is to decide what the end result should be.
HW will be changed based on your wishes and suggestions.

They can be sorted by date, grouped — the main thing is to decide what we need in the end.
HW will be changed precisely based on your wishes and suggestions.
Here all the attachments got mixed up — I even named them in order, but the 1st screenshot that should be first is third, and the 7th screenshot comes as the first one.
Post #12: the first file became the last one, the second file became the fifth, and so on.
I'd also like to suggest reworking the main page and making catalogs by games like on the old forum. Because right now the main page is nothing but news, and news about our favorite universes is very, very, very rare.
I haven't checked absolutely every thread, but I think it's all mixed up everywhere.
I also found a bug where if you open a spoiler and there's a lot of text in it (like mine)
the spoiler only shows from the very last message (of the spoiler)
specifically from this angle as in the screenshot, the old forum didn't have this, you opened the spoiler and the first messages of the spoiler appeared right away, but here only the last messages from the very bottom open

Thanks for the links and description, I'll update the sorting.
As for the main page of the site — it has always been like this with news, and they need to be somewhere after all, and the forum still has catalogs as before, they just look a bit different.
Also, for each of the games there is a separate page https://heroesworld.ru/game/heroes-5/ (you can get there from the game filter at the top), where sections with any content for the selected game are gathered.
And the fact that the automatic database balancing no longer works — is that a bug or is it now a feature?🤔
The new engine doesn't have it. But is this system even needed?
Well, I don't know... I suspect that without it, in a couple of years the database for "forum expeditioners" will be in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions... Then under the avatar, instead of birds, it would be better to just show the "absolute value" of the database.
Ничто не возникает из ничего и ничто не пропадает бесследно. Если где-то чего-то убудет, то в другом месте добавится. (Закон сохранения).

Maybe it's better to add something like "astrologers have announced a week of morale decline" and immediately -(Random N), each getting their own Random depending on how much morale they have 🙂
The old system was quite adequate, when balancing started to take effect after a certain amount of BD. I think it should be done on the same principle, so that it doesn't cut BD for those who already have too little of it.
