On one hand, the position is clear. On the other hand, I would personally question the objectivity of such an objective assessment from players who don't have at least a minimal musical education. Thirdly, I would say that the quality of performance, originality, and other factors are taken into account in any case, it's just that this isn't always explicitly stated. At the very least, everyone likes that song from Portal, but it's no longer submitted because they know that they'll get low scores for it – so, as you can see, originality is valued, not by half, but by everyone, although obviously to varying degrees.
It's also worth considering that my assessment of originality, as someone who usually listens to music based on the principle of "let's put something from anime or games on in the background," is very different from that of Arcandor, a music enthusiast who has listened to everything on YouTube. For example, if we're talking specifically about this matter.
Although I could surprise Arza, I think, but it would probably be unpleasant...
Ment has correctly stated everything above. My ratings may vary depending on my mood, fatigue (for example, I almost didn't pay attention to the lyrics of most songs for this reason), and how close I am to the deadline for giving these ratings, but in general, I evaluate based on how much I personally like the composition and whether I would listen to it again/how I would react if I heard it somewhere else later.
An objective opinion, in music, from people with a musical education. lol

Even when I submitted it for the first time, it was at the bottom of the tournament table, so...
And when I submitted it, even without knowing that it had been submitted before (I wouldn't remember who submitted what and when), many wrote that they were only downvoting it because of the repetition, but otherwise, they would have given it many positive votes.
>An objective opinion, in music, from people with a musical education – that’s something.
Well, if we’re talking about people with an education in general, and not just those who work in the industry, then I would listen to them a little more. The key word is “a little.” Simply because if a person played the violin at some point, they can better deconstruct music into its components and so on. But I wouldn’t automatically trust the opinions of those who work in the industry or critics. Because when your ear is jaded, it’s not a given that they’ll have anything worthwhile to say.
Although, to give you an example, I know a music teacher whose opinion I would definitely pay attention to. Simply because, in a casual conversation, this person once said, “I don’t think that ‘pop music’ is bad. Often, popular songs have a perfectly good composition.” That was enough to earn their credibility…
But in any case, authorities are authorities, and even if they exist, my own opinion still comes first.
Maybe pray to God to fix the quotes, because they're really bad.
Just because someone played the violin at some point in their life. Well, I don't know, my opinion might be biased for family reasons, but for me, it's all the same.
But my own opinion comes first anyway. Well, you can't argue with that.
It’s clear that there will be a lot of anime-style content, and everyone will be giving each other points, like in that picture from Family Guy, but it might still turn out well, and there will be representatives from different parts of the world.
Personally, I would prefer such a contest instead of videos, because it's unclear what to submit, to be honest. Unless it's funny videos about cats, but I don't really watch those either, so there's something to choose from...
