Some time ago, I stumbled upon a small, free concert as part of a festival. "Moscow Autumn" or something like that.
A musician, M, came on stage, and a friend of mine told me that he was incredibly cool, trendy, popular, and composed music for films... He warmed up his fingers, and the magic began. M started simply – he placed his right hand on the piano keys and began to play with one hand, picking at the keys from left to right. Just five notes for a warm-up... However, I was a little surprised when I realized that these five notes were being played in a loop for quite a while, and M wasn't going to stop. The great composer kept picking at the same keys, in the same sequence, putting me in a stupor and lulling me to sleep. But then M raised his left hand, and it became clear that now, after a good ten minutes, the prelude was ending, and the Game was about to begin! And... And... And now M was playing the same five notes, but in two octaves and with both hands. He didn't even change the tempo! %#;%×!

To be fair, after the intermission, I listened to two other musicians playing together. It was a woman on piano and a man on cello, both young. They played a whole bunch (4) of pieces, a triptych dedicated to different times of the day. Unlike the first part, I was amazed by the variety of the music; there was dynamism, and something more calm and melancholic. It's a shame I didn't remember the composer; I would listen to that again.

Yesterday, I heard the choir from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT). I never would have thought it, but they have an incredibly talented choir, with many awards and a championship title... They mainly sang folk songs; the voices were powerful, and the interaction was excellent (different parts of the choir performed intentionally differently; the positioning was very important). There was also Western music, such as Schubert's Ave Maria. Overall, I was very impressed.

It seems I have a superpower. Something like Electro's ability to control electricity. Mostly, in my case, it's static electricity. I'm not very good at it yet, but I'm practicing. Five times a day, with a loud pop, my fingers discharge into surrounding objects, people... Sometimes into walls and the water flowing from the tap. Once, I discharged into my laptop, shutting it down (it rebooted). So, just a little more practice, and I'll start fighting crime. Or I'll become a supervillain, the terror of office workers who don't save their important documents.
There is, however, a downside: these tricks are a little painful for me too.

Saturday evening – I was at a Paul Romero concert, right in the House of Music. It was quite amazing. Many pieces were reworked to suit the orchestra, and Paul himself played the piano. It started with the battle music from Heroes 3, the most aggressive one. Mostly, the music was from the third game. It felt like they played almost everything from there. There was a sitar, my friend is a fan of it, and I saw this amazing instrument for the first time; it sounds great. It was used in Rampart and Nature (Heroes 3 and 4, respectively). The downsides: there was little music from the fifth game, and it wasn't orchestral (Paul played a duet with some saxophonist, but it was still beautiful). The comments from the audience, like "What is this?" during the music from the Academy of Magic, were amusing. Another downside: they whetted my appetite by bringing a choir on stage, but in the end, the vocals were only used for Necropolis (Heroes 3). The applause was long and loud. Paul repeated three different melodies at the end, just to please the fans. He talked a little about his music, saying that he didn't expect anyone to listen to it, let alone come to a concert. But now, he says, he knows what Heroes players look like.
