Posts from HoMM VII Haven Units – Haven faction units from the seventh installment of Heroes of Might and Magic.Auto-translated
This is awesome!!! It would be great to have Landsknechts in version 5! Footman, huge respect!
I was also thinking about that, but it's inconvenient to have to constantly request it :(
Added 1 minute ago I would actually finish the mod on the author's side, and both T7 units would look great... maybe one as a neutral unit... or two versions, one with Landsknechts and one with Angels
Added 3 minutes ago It would be invaluable as a base for creators of story-driven scenarios. At least for me!
Added 48 seconds ago And then I realized I missed the update where griffins were added, lol :D :D :D

I doubt I'll finish the mod, especially since I'm leaving the 5th Heroes game, mainly because the script developers can't expand or fix the game's functionality (they can't even fix the bump map function or make it so that certain creatures play an animation when the player uses them in defense, like in the 6th and 7th Heroes games). The only progress is that I managed to export a model with animation using granny export by changing the coordinate system so that it doesn't tilt it by 90 degrees. In my very first tests, and in Esto100nec1's tests, the result was terrible, but now the reason is known.
The archive contains an unfinished model of a cavalry unit with an idle animation.

It's a shame that you decided to abandon this game... but since you've made up your mind to leave, you should make a video tutorial!
@footman I saw your request about the bump function but I am not really sure how to enable or disable this on first place.
On the xdb picture you showed, the mmh55 thread - is this BUMP ever worked in any of Heroes version ? For example works in 3.0 but not in 3.1 or the other way around?
Also can you give a line with how filled in line should look so it can give me an idea of what is doing?
It’s very bad that he decided to abandon this game... but since he has made up his mind to leave, he would make a video like a manual!
I doubt anyone needs it. Esto100nec1 made a video about exporting models with animations using the old method, and there was no point in it; besides my mods, there were no more mods with new models and animations. The only thing I will most likely do is finish working on the cavalry unit and release update 2.01, where its appearance will be the only change. dredknight

1) This function is used to reflect water; in the game, this is the only use for it, but I think this function is broken; it should work as in Heroes VII.
I doubt he's needed by anyone. Esto100nec1 made a video about how to export models with animations using the old method, but it didn't help much. There haven't been any mods with new models and animations besides mine. The only thing I'll probably do is finish working on the cavalryman and release update 2.01, in which his appearance will be the only change.
With such an apathetic approach, it's clear that there's no point. But since you don't want to and don't see the point, so be it. However, Esto100nec1 did... The more manuals there are, the easier it will be for those who want to continue developing this game, especially since there is interest from people, but not everyone has the enthusiasm and zeal to tinker... and having a manual will give a certain bonus... personally, I believe that Heroes 5 still has a chance not to fade into oblivion! :smile13:

There was a chance if one modder, whose nickname I won't mention out of principle, had released the source code for version 3.0, which he probably received later.

But as far as I understand, he won't be sharing them anytime soon!
My friends and I still play Heroes 5 online. The mods are amazing! It would be a shame if you abandoned the mod; it's turning out to be very high quality. I, for one, am eagerly awaiting the cavalry units.

2)All versions of bump work the same way.
Can you give me a visual comparison on how it looks in heroes 5 and how it looks in heroes 7?
Also why is so important to use BUMP when translating the models? Isnt there an easy way to lower the quality of the model before importing to heroes 5?

In Heroes 7, this is a normal map function, just labeled differently.
Alright so just to be certain I am thinking the right thing. When you add the BUMP image for the cavalry unit, it turns purple and you want not to be that way?
I took a look in that water reflection BUMP that you showed me. the XDB that points to the texture has the following entries.

Yes, but I repeat, I think this function is broken.
What value do you use for AverageColor and is it possible to be causing the purplish colors?
Average Color is automatically specified by the mapeditor when exporting a texture.
Also a side question - what is the meaning of ?
If you exporting texture in mapeditor you indicate her format, if dxt 1,3,4,5 IsDXT=true, else fasle
